Gotta be one of the best games of the season. What a pass from Scholes for Rooney's first.

Gattuso going off was a lucky break for Utd. Scholes and Carrick bossed it after that.

Utd still have it all to do though, can't defend like that in Milan

For pushing that little **** Kaka who was waving an imgainary yellow card to try and get Fletcher booked.

What a pass by Scholes for the second goal! Good result considering what the score was at half time.

It looked as though Evra and Heinze were trying to make each other look stupid, what the hell was Evra doing flying in like that when they scored the second.

Still, thats the boys for you, never make it easy, a rollercoaster of skill, buffoonery and ultimate ecstasy with the third goal. AC have only conceded one goal away this season, if Carrick had not missed that sitter and their keeper hadn't saved brilliantly from Ronaldo & Fletcher then it may have been a different story.

Did anyone hear the snippet on the news today, may have only reached the local press. United requested that the game against Man City be put back one day due to its proximity to the second leg against AC Milan. City, who are safe, with nothing to play for refused.

Jim.

Dont they get more money the higher they finish?

Based on last season an extra place in the league can be worth in the region of £500k

Here and here...

I think that the management at City would be lynched if they were seen helping Utd out ;) :D

Surely those sort of requests should be made to the FA and the FA should then make a ruling.

Yes, that would happen, but i think both sides need to agree on it, there is not a very good reason for the match to be moved, just an extra day of rest for the United players, so the FA cannot force the move of the fixture on City. United are just asking whether City would be happy about it before asking the FA.

Why? The other team has to agree to it, as it does affect them.

This isn't something that Utd have invented you know...other teams, in the past, have done the same thing.

great second half display but United if only we had done the same in the first half after going 1-0 up.

Very bad defending but felt VDS could have done more for the first goal, even Andy Townsend said the same at HT. It was VDS who kicked the ball so far up the pitch it was ahead of all our players and that was how AC got the ball to score

With the comedy defending he had very little to actually do and the second goal wasn't his fault, one on one the attacker should always score and he made a good save after that and even got the ball off the pitch too

Heinze looks a liability at centre half when he has played there and if we play like that at the back then AC will score but i think we have goals in us too

Plus the Derby is on TV. Moving it could have meant City losing TV money.

I know Kaka is one of the best players in the world but there's no way 1 man should have been able to take on 3 Man United defenders and score. That second goal was an embarrasment. Heinze looked like he was in with a slim change of challenging for the ball but his efforts were foiled by Evra's @rse flying in to him at 100mph.

It was one of those moments that if we go through we will look back and laugh, but if we don't go through it will be seen as the moment that put us out.

Now that's not quite what Townsend said now is it. I seem to remember he said, he was a little surprised someone of the quality of van der sar was beaten like that. But...........on the replay, he did say that, as Kaka shot, van der sar's legs were off the ground, so how can you adjust yourself in that case ?

yes but isn't it a keepers job to have his feet on the ground to dive down and make a save ?

He did cover the near post this time though so that was an improvement and on both goals we could have done better defending. the second goal maybe he could have done more but one on one the attacker should score and VDS never should have had to make a save so can't blame him on that one at all.

Goalkeepers tend to do that a lot, so they can shift their weight onto which ever side they have to dive. You have to give Kaka credit for a good finish, he was too quick for heinze and van der sar.
