Yes, but similarly my VM subs have risen and I dont have the sports channels with VM so I just put the rises down to good old inflation etc etc.

Well the red button facility is on Sky.... why not VM when it was specifically mentioned that it would be for masters series events and the US Open?!?!?!... >:(

Soon it will be even easier to catch your team on telly, thanks to the Sky Sports red button.

If they’re not showing on the main channel, all you need to do is press the red button on your remote control, and Bob’s your uncle, you can scroll through all the games and select your side. It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more. Plus, your clever red button unlocks loads of news and stats, too. And an extra bonus, from late spring you can use it to track down smaller sports events, games or highlights, too. Just keep an eye out for the red button appearing on your Sky Sports premium channels. Nice one!

There's an issue in my area too BUT I have been told on good authority (I'm not saying who) that red button for the tennis wasn't scheduled to be on VM today but don't know why....

Odd....

The key thing is going to be when I have seen say cricket over runs and go onto the red button. Or in the case of the cricket World Cup there are games happening at the same time and to access the other games it was the red button.

Still looks to me like we don't have the full proper red button service and just what Virgin are wanting to give us :(

Looks like I've been proved wrong and we have not got the full service - glad I didn't hand over any of my hard-earned to Sky!

The gripe I have is that I like my darts and one of the big tournaments in the autumn shares the Friday night with four other live events (or at least, it has the last two or three years). And guess which one was pushed behind the red button - got it in one. That is why I will not pay Sky any of my money unless they give us the full service - why should I pay them when I cannot receive the material I'm paying for?

It may be that the reason that we have not got full functionality is that Virgin are still sorting out teething troubles. For that reason, I will keep an open mind and will keep on looking back here. I'll also keep my cash in my pocket UFN...

Some very kind people I know are looking into why no Red Button for Tennis Masters last night (even though it was on the Sky platform). If I'm allowed to say why when I find out I shall let you all know...

Mobes it has happened to me with the cricket as well two matches involving the west indies were on sky sports red button on sky a couple of months or so ago ,but were not available to vms sky sports subscribers, after emailing the ceos office i recieved a phone call the nub of which was "its up to sky what they supply to vm via the red button".

From that point on i knew we were not going to get the "full" red button service on sky sports, good luck though mate.:)

It's worrying, Richard. What i would point out though (but please correct me if I'm wrong) is that certain sports (was cricket one of them?), such as tennis, were specifically mentioned in the press release as having the red button functionality. If that's not the case and Sky can give it and take it away at a whim then something needs to be done/said about it!!!

@NigelPlumb We're not sure to be honest, as Sky control what games are shown. All Football First matches at night will be available. PM

I guess Mobes sky held all the cards when it came to negotiations over the red buton, and i am guessing what happened was they said we will give you all the football ie match choice and champions league, and a selection of other sports but it will be up to us which on a take it or leave it basis.

Tennis was definately mentioned in the press release, and cricket was the first sport on red button a west indies pakistan match as far back as last april, then no more cricket on red button until the highlights of the third test match last saturday ie august!.

One thing vm could and should do in my view would be to publish a proper red button list, but when i spoke to the lady from the ceos office she did not seem to know what would be on and when.! so perhaps it is as random as that football apart.
