the next point its not just as easy as "GO TO SKY". even with all the great information you brought you just proved how moronic you can be. people just cant up sticks and move to Sky there is people who ristrictions by either not being able to have a sky dish installed due to living in rented accomodation and not having permission off the landlords or because then live in housing unsuitable for installing sky dishes (high rise flats), there is even places where the local council wont let you have permission to have a dish on the house regardless of if you own it or not. sure its only a short wait (2 months actually not 1 if you are the last area to be swapped to NGTV) but people on VM have been waiting a long time for the HD revolution to finally happen on VM sure we got a little last year but the latest announcement is rally putting VM on par with Sky and to announce them to all and then to issue restrictions to people due to VM not upgrading as fast as they thought is dissapointing. Maybe VM should of taken the NGTV upgrades into account and mentioned it on all the announcements that the channels are NGTV spacific or that the channel will be available to all in june (sooner to customers on NGTV). as it is VM have shot themselves in the foot by doing a pretty poor job on clarity of the situation (or a good job in decieving customers) and customers have the right to moan about it. my area is already on NGTV (Teesside) so personally its not going to affect me, but i do feel for those who are going to have to wait as ive been on the end of a few deals like this (not just on VM) and its annoying to have to wait for something other have already even though you are paying the same price. |

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
As someone who lives in an area which will not get the new HD channels I have to say I feel pretty hard done to by this. After YEARS of waiting for Virgin to get their act together with HD they fall at the last hurdle.
Could it really have been so difficult to have upgraded all the head ends by now? It's absolutely pathetic and shows they are still totally clueless as a TV provider. I won't be going to Sky as I despise Murdoch, but they have managed to reset my opinion on them back to 'these guys are cluess imbeciles' level. And frankly I don't see why I should be paying the same XL charge as everyone else when I will soon be getting a LOT less for my money than others will. (as for me, I only watch HD channels) ---------- Post added at 20:32 ---------- Previous post was at 20:29 ---------- Quote:

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
In the end what difference does a few weeks really make?
And if you feel hard done by for getting less for your money being on xl then think about the people on sd who are subsidising your hd viewing :p: |

Come on he/she was just playing around and trying to lighten up the situation, no need to take offence.

I prefer to think of it as some small payback for me subsidising useless SD TV for so many years. SD needs to die. |

If we all role over and accept that it is OK to be shafted, then we will continue to be shafted... we should stand up for ourselves and say it is unfair..... Oh hang on I forgot, we british dont do that!!. If you read my other posts, I accept that a protest probably wont make any difference, and actualy I dont really care too much about HD. BUT it IS unfair and to just say OH well we cant do anything about it continues to perpetuate a general feeling of let them do what they want. I am paying for this service and I have every right to be ticked off if I am being treated unfairly. I object to being likened to a child just because I am standing up for what I believe in. **** Addition I have just read your post that says if people are not happy we should contact Virgin and let them know how we feel.... That has been done with no acceptable outcome (no info about when headend will be upgraded and a flat refusal to reduce subscription for the period that I am not receiving the same service as others). |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Yes it is annoying, but really we should be used to it by now.Vm as tv providers are a totally joke and always will be,All they are clearly bothered about is broadband. As for these fools on here telling us to stop moaning they are probably peeps who have been upgraded already and dont care about anybody else,What is happening at the moment regarding promising us hd and then not delivering on there promise is nothing new from vm and will never change. They will never be able to compete will sky whilst the current clueless management are running this cowboy operation,We just after except it or change providers. We are going to end up going thru this cowboy expierience when tivo arrives because true to form vm will cock up again

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Virgin Media are a rip off - Broadband is all they care about... I wish they would achieve the same fantastic results with their TV survice but NOPE
Word of advice VM either book your ideas up and be just as great as $ky (channel wise) or you know where the door is...:td::sleep: |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Talking about children i think virgin media have acted like a child , doing alot of good things lately and now letting themselves and us down just like children often do.

Why don't you contact them again and again until you get the result your after or failing that why don't you really stick it to them and move to another provider? |
