I'll be checking my inventory list as I transfer stuff to make sure it's up-to-date. I'll also be winnowing out stuff that's got too old.

A.O's tracking service is brilliant, you can actually see where the delivery van is in almost real time. :)

Well Done, I have used this firm before they are very good

my sister and her sister In-law had a much needed relaxing spa weekend, the journey home however was eventful.

They hit a phesent.

My sister was in the passenger seat and got showered with bits of glass.

I said luckily it hit the side my sister was seated and not the driver, as it could have been a lost worse.

Both are OK and the shock hit them later.

Just finished browning a decent piece (~1Kg) of brisket to slow pot roast for this evenings meal. Should be really tender after 5-6 hours.

Everything ready for lunch just made some scones that we will have with a cuppa after our toasties & side salad.

I will have cheese and pineapple whereas no doubt Karen will pick cheese and ham and Lindzi will have the same as me :) then we will have a good old catch up as it's been awhile that I have been up to having friends over for lunch so I'm really looking forward to it tbh it's so nice being able to do normal things again.

Good luck weenie as with your scones they say put the jam on first, and then clotted cream in the Cornish style on one side of her scone, and then cream followed by jam on the other side, as they do in Devon.:naughty::naughty::D:D

Yes you could nash I used to think that also but then I gave it a try and was amazed just how easy they were to make, honestly it's only flour, salt, butter, sugar and milk and then once you have mastered them you can add whatever you want or just leave it if you want plain scones. I now add whatever and if it does not work out lesson learnt ;)

I need to say plain scones are lovely with pineapple jam.

Here is a easy recipe from morrisons https://groceries.morrisons.com/webs...t-scones/37005

The thing about scone dough is not to work it at all, just enough to bring it together. That way the scones will be light and crumbly.

Gas bill just in for the quarter: £43.50. Can't complain about that. :)

Lecky will be quite a bit more especially as I've been leaving the main PC on 24/7 as it's now running a media server to my network as well as doing work during the day.

I find it harder with the "theme" I use for my wife's "stocking gifts", small gifts we open Christmas morning before church. (Main pressies get opened later after lunch).

Last year's theme was seeds, previous years include red (colour), wind and so on. I'm not leaking this year's not even to you nice folk but it's now sorted and wrapped.

Unbelievable: The first set of fairy lights, about 25 screw-in bulbs made of two older sets, for the hall worked first time. That normally never happens.

40 bulb set will be more difficult as it didn't work last Xmas. I have a voltage tracing tool that looks like a screwdriver but has a battery and LED inside that indicates mains. I'll trace down the wires 'til the voltage goes missing. Then replace the bulb(s).

All Christmas shopping done and dusted thank goodness although this Christmas will be for myself very much mixed emotions as this will be the last year that our eldest is in the house but saying that ask his little brother and this will be more than likely the best Christmas ever LOL due to him finally getting his big brother's room next March/April. TBH I can't blame him as his room is rather small for him now but served it's purpose in giving him his space, he just needs a bit more now.

It's a real bummer when it does that on laptop at close down at the end of the day and you can't leave until it completes.

Apart from one or two odd and sods all the Christmas shopping is done. Got the final short date perishables this morning in Lidl. Seasonal veggies at only 19p a bag. :) Couldn't get in the carpark there at 8:10 this morning. Packed.

I've got a turkey breast roast that is stuffed, buttered and covered in bacon so just shove it in the oven on the day. Gravy pot that just needs microwaving like the pudding.

I can then concentrate on the trimmings.

Unless it's your local retailer you want/need to support. And some stuff I don't buy online - food especially I like to talk with the "specialists", taste stuff, see, smell touch what I'm buying.

I've not found our Waitrose/shops too bad in themselves but parking is another matter.

Have a great Christmas everybody.

A little warning from an article in my red top today that mince pies are poisonous for dogs. It's the raisins, currants and sultanas aparently. So if Santa's pie's gone check the pooch.
