But you would expect them to get through all the people who took the time to pre register.

If its true, that 25000 pre registered and they are allowing 3 hours per install. One installer will do 4 a day on a 12 hour shift. 24 a week for a 6 day week and 104 a month. So between now and the 1 st of April an installer can do 176 installs.

25000/176=142 installers working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week to clear the pre-registrations. Not sure how many they have? Does 142 installers sound reasonable vm employees?

Regards

John.

They would also have other products to install such as standard Vboxes and broadband so probably a lot less than your figures.:D

I thought this might be the case but you have to pay upfront by card when you place the order.

Just thought you may be interested in my experiences of the HD Virgin TiVo, which I had installed last Saturday on my blog. It has some videos of usage of the TiVo including performance of the box in the menus, YouTube features, search by actor features and other cool stuff :)

Nice blog, keep up the good work, whats the PQ on SD & HD,
Any better or worse then the old SA box?

Cheers mate, appreciate it. Hope people aren't getting tired of me uploading video after video! Well I find it fun anyway :D

PQ is very good. SD and HD both just as good as my old Samsung V+ HD (sorry didn't have a SA box to compare)

It looks just superb in the menu.

I posted on the blog earlier that VM got in touch with me earlier which has put my mind at rest a bit about the slowness I've experienced a bit. Tonight and last night though it's been blazing fast.

It seems on another blog that half the VM engineers haven't even had TIVO install training , or at least in some areas probably not here in sunny Wigan LOL.

the crux will come in april when they have 10,000 customers to still install they have new customers to do.

Wonder what they will do then.

Don't forget half of the people who pre registered won't follow through and order.

The girl who installed mine said it was the first TiVo she'd installed, and would I mind some of her colleagues coming to watch. Two senior engineers then came into my lounge to watch what she was doing!

I better get plenty of tea and biscuits ready for The TiVo Army when they come around to install my box. :)

3 hours was for the tivo500 but it'll roughly be an hour for the next batch. The TiVo is to be left in a semi ready state when the egineef leaves as it takes hours to unpack all the epg data
