I think after reading what they are going to charge, they can stick it.

I am quite prepared to pay £5.00 per month extra for the BT sports and ESPN.
But l was under the impression that ESPN is free on VM, will that mean that that goes out the window when BT take over.

Anymore news on wether VM will get the channels.

An interesting snippet in the sun today where they belittle BTs claims about 18 top pick games, they only get these after sky have picked their 20 top pick games, so utd v city, Liverpool v utd, arsenal v Chelsea will all still be on sky!!! They also say that sky have a purple response team (?) that are planning to reign hell on BTs advertising and marketing strategy
Ps VM are probably assembling a pink team to tell us how it is more important to record 3 programmes whilst streaming iplayer :td:

"THE GLOVES will start to come off in the war between BT Sport and Sky when next season’s top-flight fixtures are announced on Wednesday.
BT’s publicity blitz, featuring Joe Hart, and Gareth Bale, has heavily trailed the 18 ‘first-pick’ matches in their total of 38.

But Sky will already have chosen which 20 rounds of games they have the plum tie in — leaving BT to make do with the headline encounter in the remaining 18.

News of the first few weeks of televised games is due in around three weeks.
At which point expect Sky’s Project Purple — the unit dedicated to responding to the BT challenge — to unleash hell."

I'm not sure that is true

38 weeks football...BT gets 18 top picks...sky 20

But lets wait and see...unless you are with virgin...then it is..coming soon to a tv not with virgin :D

Yes but sky get to pick their 20 weeks first and BT are left with the remaining 18 weeks, so the 18 top picks left might not have any really big games

Where does it say that sky get to select their first 20 weeks first?

Sadly Den to use the football coverage the providers command as an analogy BT and Sky are like Real Madrid and Man Utd battling it out in the Champions league while Virgin are like Spurs trying to sneak in the back door :(

First of all Virgin are indeed wise not to bid for sports rights as they have shot through the roof in the last few years and secondly comparing Sky and BT is like comparing a incumbent heavyweight against a lightweight and the end result will always be a easy win for the stronger bigger heavyweight boxer.

By virtue of the fact that they won the auction and got the first choice packs.

18 top picks doesn't mean the 18 best matches.

But you knew that, right?

Still, at least Bt have kept a good relationship with Sky - that will work in their favour...
