Because if you look closely at the picture, it contains Chinese artefacts. somehow, my original vindaloo reference didn't ring true to the surroundings. :erm:

Nazi goring as my local Chinese (not me) spells it is a hot spicy rice dish and nothing to do with the Nazis. :erm:

Anyway (galactic sage) seeing as you pulled me up about my spelling - how come you didn't know about this one??? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

To be fair, if you type "nazi goring" into google, rice based meals don't get a mention.

I stopped looking after the first 8 pages.....

As I posted earlier, Nazi Goring is a misspelling of Indonesian/Malay Nasi Goreng, which is fried rice. It's not very spicy normally, unless large amounts of sambal are added.

See post 3 for a Brit talking about Fascists, and post 5 for someone from Indonesia correcting the spelling.

Never heard of it before.

Or perhaps he meant a rather amorous Nazi Göring? :erm:

That was my first thought, hence the "WTF".

I didn't notice the banner with the oriental writing on the wall, if that's what you're referring to. I'm not familiar enough with Chinese & Japanese written languages to be able to tell the difference, but considering the dog looks rather like a Kishu, & the sliding doors between the room the dog is in & the next room [a very popular architectural feature in Japan, apparently], I would guess it's more likely to be Japanese.

As I said, never heard of it. You'd have been better off leaving it as "vindaloo", as that's something far more people have heard of.

I'm not a spelling nazi, & don't generally tend to make an issue of people's spelling, but when someone tries to be a smartarse, using English words that are sufficiently obscure that I have to look them up, and spells them both incorrectly [which makes finding their definitions that much more awkward], I believe that falls into the category of "asking for it". :p:

When is it not funny to make a joke of other peoples disfigurements? Other impersonal things we can laugh at:

A baby born with 11 fingers
People with learning difficulties
Any handicapped person
Any poster called orior
A car crash victim with brain damage
etc
etc

I'd better stop cause some people are splitting their sides with laughter.
