Yes. And? Wireless is always slower than Ethernet

Correct. It's not relevant in the slightest.

Don't think there is any claim that there isn't a connection.

Even on that page it says:

Wow! VM paying a commercial company for their services. Disgusting

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed

When I put my postcode into the "See when we're doubling yours" checker on the Virgin website, I get the following:

"We've finished upgrading the fibre optic netwrok in your area"

"Congratulations! The new double speed boosts are already up and running in your area"

I have 120Mb broadband. Does this mean I should now be getting 120mb down, and 12mb up? I'm still only able to upload at just under 6mb.

Speedtest to prove you are on 120Mbit down?

What is the best server to use on Speedtest? I'm testing but getting around 40mb only.

Tried Preston, which the Virgin engineer told me to use when installing my Superhub. Results aren't great:

Not too sure about my downstream settings. I'm not really a "techy" person when it comes to my internet connection / Superhub.

http://192.168.1.1/VmRouterStatus_configuration.asp the "Max Traffic Rate" under "Primary Downstream Service Flow"

Have you actually seen that speed or did the engineer just tell you that your on 120?

http://speedtester.bt.com/beta/speedtest-remote.jsp this usually gets full speed for me all the time but it doesn't provide a linkable result for proof.

He went to great lengths to prove it using Speedtest and the BBC iplayer speedtest too. When he tried Preston my download speed was just over 100mb. I can't remember the results on iplayer.

Here is a snap of my account:

I'll have a look at the other links you've posted shortly.

Thanks for the info

With the overprovising virgin did for 100 they raised it up to 110 so in speedtests you will see around 105 at max.
For example: https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2012/08/30.png
I am on 100
