Re: Broken e-mail

Check your e.mail via the webmail option from the ntlworld homepage to see exactly what mails are there and what size they are.
If they look ok and are not large in size i would try removing the account from outlook and adding a new one to refresh it.

Re: Broken e-mail

Rather annoyingly I have no idea whatsoever about my password for webmail, so it looks like a call to cs tomorrow for me :(

Re: Broken e-mail

Finally got into webmail, and whilst not a large e-mail, one in particular was causing a blockage
After deleting it, everything is fine, so rep for you my friend :)

Increase the timeout.

Re: Broken e-mail

I did that and it didn't make a difference.

Re: Broken e-mail

Try setting it to 10 minutes, no joke, I have set on that at the moment, just in case. :)

Re: Missing email - should I be worried?

Oh yeh, well I have just received 20 emails dated 4 days ago.

For gods sake the royal mail are faster than that.

they did indeed have one offline... a backup server was put in place, hence the disappearing mails... is anyone still having problems today?

I'm hoping the missing ones will come back when the problems have been fixed - but this happened to me a couple of years ago, fewer emails involved, but they were lost permanently.
Any ideas? Other than 'find a new ISP' which is what I'll certainly be doing if the emails are gone forever :(

*Sigh*.......

Surprise surprise.....:dozey:

Didn't take them too long to acknowledge the problem then...

ntlworld Email service

27 March 2004 10:12

ntl internet customers on all packages may currently be unable to access some or all of their incoming email accounts, or may find that unread email and mail saved in webmail has temporarily disappeared.

This is due to a problem with one of our email servers.

Our engineers are aware and are working towards a resolution as soon as possible.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sending email down ?

Hi,

For the last hour or so any emails I send are not going anywhere it seems, no one is receiving them - I tried a few tests to other email accounts I have as well and they are not arriving - is anyone else having problems with NTL's SMTP server ?
