disney plus with ads,

Disney+ with ads isn't available to subscribe to with Virgin , just 25% off Standard or Premium 12 month subscription, does this suggest current deal with Disney is quite old?

Will see a new deal with Disney at some point I'd imagine.

The channels are doomed. The future is streaming. We all need to get used to this.

I can understand Sky milking the present opportunities, but there’s no future in this.

Virgin don’t seem to be disposed to changing contracts before the existing agreements are due to expire.

Personally, I’m not interested in any streamer with ads!

Has anyone else had the AD issue return, where AD appears even though it's switched off and, to switch it off, you have to switch it on. Then, when they eventually get round to fixing it, you have to switch it off again?

No. What channels was it on?

ITV and BBC2 (I think). It's also affected recordings made yesterday (V6.)

Not on the 360.

Try re-booting your box.

Maybe Disney is not prepared to negotiate a better deal until the existing contract expires.

I think Richard is referring to Audio Description.

It would be more helpful if he also named the programs and episodes, times and channels and if they were live or recorded versions so tohers can help by checking or seeing if they can be replicated.

Some programs are only broadcast in AD at certain times, hence recording versions can also be affected by the time they were broadcast/recorded.

Some streamed/catch up programs are also only available in AD format.

Re: Virgin TV (2026)

Possibly, I was going by "where AD appears even though it's switched off" which implied something visual, not audio.

Following the Sky TV changes on 24th February, triggered by the rebranding of Sky Max back to Sky One and the closure of Sky Showcase, listings show that Sky Atlantic will be going back to the beginning with several programmes:

25th February
Atomic starts with S1 E1 at 10pm

26th February
True Detective starts with S1 E1 at 1.20pm

27th February
Boardwalk Empire starts with S1 E1 at 4.15pm
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth starts with S1 E1 at 10pm

2nd March
The Gilded Age starts with S1 E1 at 3pm
DTF St Louis starts with S1 E1 at 9pm
All Her Fault starts with S1 E1 at 10pm

3rd March
Chernobyl starts with S1 E1 at 9pm

6th March
The Time Traveler's Wife starts with S1 E1 at 10pm

I'm now more convinced that Sky Atlantic will be added to Virgin Media. I may be putting 2 + 2 and getting 5 but let's see.

Some of rights are expiring though or short term, considering how it's been offered on Sky , nothing would suprise me anymore

Yes, full of repeats, just like the BBC of old!
