Virgin Media call them Factual on their TV Edit webpage where they provide the PDFs of the channel lineup. So even they can't make their mind up. :-)

DBR is reporting that Eurosport SD Channels stop broadcasting last night (November 5th at 00.22) on CO 30.

Eurosport 1 was on SID 716.
Eurosport 2 was on SID 724.

Given they went HD-only a few weeks ago it doesn't matter, so long as a marker remains for keeping recordings active.

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4

JJ20X on Forumbox has mentioned some multiplex moves and switching to MPEG4.

I've had a quick look on Digitalbitrate and can confirm this.

The channels mentioned are as follows:

Colors Cineplex
COLORS
alibi +1
Dave ja vu
GOLD +1
Home +1
Sky Premiere +1hr
TCM +1
Sky Crime +1

Moves often mean you will need to re-add any of these to your Favourites if they were previously on your Favourites.

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4

Based on further information from JJ20X on Forumbox it looks like several more streams have moved and/or switched to MPEG4 now.

Colors Rishtey
ITV4 +1
Sky Sports Racing

If you have these on your Favourites you may need to re-Favourite them.

Also the following red button channels have switched

BT Sport Extra 0
BT Sport Extra 1
BT Sport Extra 2
BT Sport Extra 3
BT Sport Extra 4

And for some reason Syfy+1 has moved multiplex, so will likely have to be re-added to Favourties. It was already MPEG4.

Based on yet more information from JJ20X this morning on Forumbox several more streams have moved and/or switched to MPEG4 now.

If you have these on your Favourites you may need to re-Favourite them.

Star Bharat
W +1
Eden +1
YESTERDAY +1
QVC Beauty
ITV Audio Description

BT Sport Extra 5
BT Sport Extra 6

This probably completes the MPEG4 switches.

I'm sure some of you will be relived at this thread ending.
:D

Now to speculate what the space will be used for...more channels...or internet bandwidth? :p:

Well, personally, I hope that we will be getting much more UHD and streaming services on Virgin Media in 2020. I dare say that this would put the increased capacity to good use.

I think "Virgin TV For Newbies" on Channel 997 is still to join MPEG4.

Can anyone confirmed if the local TV Channels like Leeds TV and Liverpool TV has joined MPEG4 or is still broadcasting in MPEG2?

Re: Channels switched to MPEG4

Digital Bit Rate is reporting that Virgin Media UK has started to test 7 unknown channels.

CO47:

SID 1201 (Broadcasting nothing)
SID 1202 (Broadcasting nothing)

CO53:

SID 1502 (Same as "For Parents")

CO54:

SID 1601 (Same as "Channel off air")
SID 1602 (Same as "For Parents")

CO65:

SID 1801 (Same as "Channel off air")
SID 1802 (Same as "For Parents")

All channels are in MPEG2 so maybe something to do with all channels moving to MPEG4 or SD Channels being axe.
