Telegraph are reporting that the nerve agent was secreted in his daughter's luggage: Either an impregnated item of clothing or cosmetics. (Paywall article)

Quote from The Sun:

Counter-terror cops and MI5 do not believe their poisoners ever entered the UK, senior intelligence sources told the Daily Telegraph.

They are reported to be working on the theory that an object they were carrying was laced with the drug, then opened at Skripal's home in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

As many as 131 people may have come in contact with the deadly substance developed in Russia, according to Deputy Chief Constable Paul Mills of Wiltshire Police.

Relatives are pointing the finger at the prospective mother-in-law after it was disclosed she was a highly-ranked Russian security official.

Skripal's niece has broken her silence to claim Yulia, who had a bust-up with her boyfriend's mum, was the real target of the attack.
Maybe the gun has been jumped in directly blaiming Putin's mob?

Nothing like a good conspiricy theory. :D

Russia have to explain how a military grade nerve agent made by them has been used in this case..They are signatories to all the international agreements and treaties on chemical weapons..they do have a responsibility to help the investigation and to try and find out why this agent is 'out there' if they don't want to be accused of breaking their agreements.

Seems to me that Russia (Putin) has already been tried and found guilty, such is the power wielded by the media.

You can maybe guess I place no trust in most things said by Politicians and the media, I'm just an old fuddy duddy that hates being manipulated. I certainly don't fit into todays society, not by a long shot :D

Because that's how they operate. Divide and rule.

Just look at the illegal annexation of Crimea.

The way they have behaved since being accused of this reckless act, with smug responses and not to stand up to a nuclear power, well we are a nuclear power as well.

Their attitude is of not to be challenged on any wrong doing they do.

As Damien as said, they are Bullies. Putin has said himself about he hopes Russian traitors "choke" on silver. This shows a lack of concern on anyone who seeks a better life outside of their own country. Russian Nationals are being murdered on UK streets and they don't appear to give a shit.

Totally agree, for a change ! Just hope Donald's woken up to the threat and any Russian links are terminated. As long as we, the US, the EU, NATO stick together the Russians will do nothing. Trying to split us apart has been their constant aim. Their online social media tactics to try and spread unrest and divisions have been very effective during the US election and Brexit vote.

Russian citizens are being killed everyday by the security apparatus that Putin has setup not just on our streets this guy is another stalin if he isn't dealt with only plus point is even in Russia communication allows people to get information out. Putin isn't short of enemies and that includes the Russian military we just have to hope they will take care of him before he does something very stupid as he strikes me as the scorched earth personality if he's going down he will take as many as possible with him.

Ridiculous thing to say that weakens every other point you've made

No it doesn't weaken anything Putin is a stalin type person he is cruel, sadistic and very petty all traits that joseph stalin had and while Putin is nowhere near the number of murders yet that stalin was responsible for he is a mass murderer and will only continue and increase his victims.

He probably has WMD hidden away too

We should invade as soon as possible to rid the world of this madman and steal his oil.

Then we can award contracts to our best buddies to rebuild what we flattened

well it worked elsewhere didn't it?

Stalin was responsible for the deaths of up to 50 million people and exiled entire ethnic groups to gulags in Siberia, Putin has many faults and has committed many horrific crimes I'm sure but the two aren't in the same league, they're not even playing the same game and imo to say different is pure sensationalism that detracts from actually holding Putin to account

Your talking scale i was talking about personality type and while thankfully it's highly unlikely Putin will get to the scale of stalin he is very much a similar personality and is dragging down a great nation full of good people. I genuinely do worry about what he will do if he feels threatened internally and thinks he may lose his position as I'm sure there are many horrific things that will come out when he's gone.
