Interestingly, that article refers to co-productions with BSkyB. .

I'm Pretty sure that Fleming was one of those. It was on HBO Nordic at the same time that it aired on Sky Atlantic.

My original views on the subject were purely based on the fact I couldn't see any firm paying that kind of money for exclusive rights when the content could be shown on subscription elsewhere.

Yeah, okay.

Anyway, what with all the recent talk about Sky America and the possibility of HBO streaming coming, is there a stream of thought that the best new American shows will go to Sky America (which will be exclusive to Sky) and Atlantic will just keep the shows it already has and will be released to other providers?

Apologies if anyone has suggested this before.

Fleming aired on Sky Atlantic and BBC America the show was produced for them by Ecosse Films.

Not heard a thing about this channel , people claim its been mentioned in VM adverts in the small print. Could it be a mistake ?

It's good to speculate about Sky America. But I can't really see the commercial benefit to Sky of the above scenario. They've spent a lot of money building the Sky Atlantic brand, why would they want to change it?

Thanks for that MM.

That would explain why Fleming is also on one of the Netflix regions.

I first spotted America HD back in March:

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/92...ming-soon.html

When I asked the guys at Lounge Lab I got the following reply:

"Thank you for making us aware of this - good detective work. Would you be able to upload a photo of the letter so we can see the full version?

In terms of America HD - it's got us somewhat confused. We think it may refer to BBC America HD which is an American digital cable and satellite television network that is owned as a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Discovery Communications. It is not funded by the license fee and only available in the US. But not a channel we have on Sky. Or do you think they mean Sky Atlantic HD?"

Sounds like yet another advertising / marketing mistake from Virgin Media

Well surly someone whose name rhymes with Ten could ask a question and quickly nip this in the bud...

Sunday news:

- Looks like Viacom have decided not to close Channel 5+24.

- Not sure where 5* +1 will go when it returns.

- Viacom want Spike TV to be carried on VM from next year.

- LFC HD in "very early talks" with a view to be carried on VM.

VM, along with other parties, have been invited to tender for the remaining equipment at the former BBC Television Centre.

IIRC, on offer are a satellite farm and items/sets from Doctor Who, Match Of The Day, Newsnight etc.

Anyone can tender (private individuals included), if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get the info. for you :)

I realise that this is off topic and do apologise but thought I would save Richard being inundated with requests for info about the auction and just post the link. The list of items for sale is quite extensive.

I've asked around on my sources no-one has heard of Sky America, my sources think VM may have got mixed up with either 5USA or Sky Atlantic Most likely just a error though from VMs press team.

Monday update from Media Boy HQ.

Movies 24 confirmed launch date for Christmas 24.

Movies 24 has confirm that Christmas 24 will launch on November 1st (Not November 2nd as first reported by me).

Some UKTV channels added to XL on Demand.

Over the past weekend Media Boy HQ has seen that Watch, Home and Good Food has been added to XL on Demand over the past month.
