Yes Phil has not quite been at his best lately and my tip for the title is James Wade.

Blackpool's home favourite Baxter won through to his first major semi-final for three years with his 16-11 win over rising star Justin Pipe, who was appearing in the last eight of a televised event for the first time.

Also wade won last night and phil taylor to make the semis. Unfortunately I now have no one to cheer, as i'm not a fan of either the above or jenkins and baxter. But plus point, I can watch olympics

I'm puzzled. what has national pride got to do with darts?

It is a sport i watch. I don't watch it because it has UK, GB, or any other country. I watch individuals.

And if not mistaken, they play as individuals, not as representatives for their country.

My favourite players didn't make it through, so why would I want to watch others?
(and I wish the spell checker would allow itself to be corrected to include UK English spellings, instead of red lining)

Taylor saw off Ronnie Baxter 17-10 at the Winter Gardens, but Wade was pushed all the way by Terry Jenkins before securing a 17-15 success.

With reigning champion Phil Taylor, two-time winner James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld already knocked out of the event, double world champion Lewis followed after a sloppy performance against the Dutchman.

Dolan reaches semi-finals

http://www.sportinglife.com/darts/ne...es-semi-finals

Quote:

Home favourite Brendan Dolan returned to the semi-finals of the PartyPoker.com World Grand Prix with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Justin Pipe in Dublin.

The Irishman faces Mervyn King next after he cruised past Robert Thornton, the conqueror of Phil Taylor, 3-0 in the last of Friday night's quarter-finals.

Michael van Gerwen had it tougher as he battled his way into the last four with a 3-2 defeat of Andy Hamilton.

Newton is the final seed still standing after he produced a remarkable comeback to stun Paul Nicholson 3-2 and move one win away from the final.
