but VM are constantly looking to improve the network and the services :)

The only information available was in the webpage that has been taken down so everything once again is supposition until such time as an official press release is forthcoming.

If you tinker with the VM website you can order the 30Mb upgrade. Just got an email confirmation, will see if I hear anything...

One of the staff reckons the orders have been logged I ordered mine last night and received a confirmation email.

That's what I meant. If you click the big "Upgrade to 30MB" button, this is where it takes you.

Anyway, the page is still in Google's cache if you mess with the URL.

My router is on it's way out as mentioned on a thread in this forum somewhere.
Probably worth it to go for the upgrade (for the superhub) and use the cached link?

Seems like a 100% c*ckup by VM on this launch, come on VM get your act together!

Frequent resets, sometimes these resets actually cause the router to factory default itself.
Intermittent connections lost even though the router is on.

Check threads started by me, I had mentioned it before and was advised to get a new router, but haven't done since.

Anyway, order has been placed and confirmed now :)

Just a heads-up. The package will not be displayed on the right of the page unless the upgrade page had been visited in the first place.
Cookies are probably behind this.

I'm now concerned that i have placed an order for something that doesn't exist(yet) and have an order number......... what happens next when it goes live, will they know that i have already ordered it and send me out the superhub?

they took my cash, they have a deal to honour with me now ;)

unfortenatly I have no commit date tho so they can probably delay it until after official launch.

Someone on another forum in the same predicament as us has again phoned them and were told the this....

Just phoned again [This time via #151] and spoke to a scottish fellow - he says that basically the reason why most of the staff are unsure, is because the page wasn't supposed to go 'live' yet - the actual 30Mb connection doesn't get 'switched on' until February 1st, so that's why some people are being asked to contact VM / some of the call centre staff aren't to sure what's going on.

Apparantely though, the super hubs are still being sent out - mine'll be dispatched within 5 - 7 working days, and they'll add the £30 onto next months bill (I've already had mine, so I'm not sure if they'll adjust it, or wait an additional month - will have to login to the online billing in a few days). Once the service 'goes live' they'll just send a new config file to the hub.

Right ;) But my confirmation e-mail and the "Checkout" sheet which gives an order number, and states my service will be "Broadband 30", that Extras will be a "Virgin Media Super Hub" and fees will be for "30Mb broadband activation", means that my details have all been logged, and I don't have to do anything else?

The feeds supporting the portal appear to be in place, so there is no reason you wont hear back.

:D It's not worth risking my job for .. if I tell you something VM hasn't released I'd get beaten ...
