Virgin sometimes wait until the Sd contract is up to bundle the HD version as part of the new agreement , this way it's more cost effective. I believe they will do this with the ITV HD channels and my media contact says the same but nobody knows for sure. ITV 3 and 4 HD launch in November so watch this space.

I agree. You should spend at least six of the remaining eight waking hours on here discussing the sixteen hours of TV you've watched. That's what I do!

my source for testing channels is out
ill ask him tomorrow to check for new additions .

Further to my previous post (I have a Samsung TV that has a cable tuner in it which I am told is quite common with this manufacturer) the only new channel that seems to be testing is BBC One HD (actually it isn't a true test transmission it just has EPG data accompanied by an On Demand trailer), there were some other channels listed as Test Channels but Media Boy confirmed they are just something to do with On Demand.

It's a bit fiddly to do a search as I have to balance the cable screw connector against the aerial input of the set but I will have another look later to see if anything new has appeared.

Free up space how? On their servers? Or, in terms of bandwidth? Which did you mean and why?

You really need to get a splitter and a proper 'F to Belling-Lee' adapter so that you can have the TV and STB connected at the same time (assuming the signal levels from the street cabinet will allow a split).

Thanks for the advice but I'm not interested having the cable input permanently connected to the TV, it was just to do a quick search to see if anything was testing. Besides I have the UHF aerial connected for freeview.

Anyway I have done another search and there still appears to be nothing else testing apart from BBC One HD.

It's all about YOU. What about US?

You could use a splitter/combiner for the DTT and CATV connections to the back of the set! I must say that I'm a little surprised that there aren't separate connections for the aerial and cable.

cheers & :welcome: . VM currently get BBC HD via fibre direct from the BBC, so I should imagine it will be the same for BBC One HD
