It's not really odd if you wanted to start over. Giving up all the technology allowed them to start over.

Just seem an odd decision..

Trying to "break the cycle" - 150,000 years later, seems to have worked (so far).

They finally realised that technology nearly caused their extinction. Not such a strange decision under the circumstances.

And also they didn't want to change the evolution of the planet, let things occur naturally.

Hmm, they did seem to drag the end out a bit. Interesting ending, tho I find it hard to believe they would all give up their technology just like that.

We are all part cylon then.

Also, how come caprica six and baltar were alive 150,000 years later ?

The pair seen in New York at the end were the ones we were always led to believe were hallucinations - Baltar's visions of Caprica Six were a recurring theme through the entire series (although less so in the last season) while Caprica Six's visions of Baltar were only seen on screen once or twice.

Right at the very end, when Baltar and Six are tooled up and preparing to face a Cylon boarding party, for the first time both visions appear to both of them simultaneously. That, coupled with other things the visions said during the final episode, begins to reveal to us that all along they were 'angels' sent from 'god' to guide/manipulate the entire situation.

Essentially we're being told that Baltar and Six were god's instruments throughout the entire story, from the destruction of the colonies to the population of Earth, and that this god (although "you know it doesn't like being called that!") continues to take an interest in Earth up to the present day, hence the continued presence of two of his/its agents/angels ... shown to us in the forms of Baltar and Six because we needed to understand who they were immediately, without explanation, in the last few seconds of the story.

People may find this useful (full of spoilers if you haven't seen the final episode yet).

Did anyone else spot the Ron Moore cameo at the end (150,000 years later)

Reading the National Geographic, at the news stand, in New York at the very end.

I could tell it was a Cameo, wasn't sure who it was though.

Watched it last night, and absolutely loved it. Just one thing - what the hell happened to Starbuck?

I think she was meant to have been some kind of angel sent by God to help get everyone to earth.

Just seen it and i've got to say that was an amazing end to a great show tied up the lose ends very well with a mix of action and characterization that had just the right balance well done to all involved in makeing it.

She was left deliberately ambiguous. If you've not read it, the link in Foreverwar's post (186) is well worth a peep, it's an interview with some of the cast and crew that explains a lot of what went on.

Just watching the very first (2 hour special) pilot episode again to see how it looks now that I've seen how the series ends.
