I'm mean is there launch date for the new software or is that launching with new box

We do not know when the new software will launch (Base on past updates it will be area by area)

That launch date is for the new TiVo box (Virgin Media UK are testing it right now).

Everything to do with the new TiVo and an new app is on the DNP list.

Once we can get it removed we will reveal (we have been sitting on info since last July).

Update from my Virgin Media UK Sources.

The update on TiVo to the new look vod started last night to 50,000 customers.

My Virgin Media UK Sources say tonight that TiVo's going forward will have picture based menus.

It's about bleeding time , that's always been my main gripe with VM I hate the overly convoluted lists for On Demand.

TiVos in Stafford, Peterborough and part of Liverpool got the new software early this morning.

No other areas are planned to get this particular version. It's an early pilot to test new the VOD features. Once the rest of the features are added, they will be piloted in other regions (assuming the first pilot goes OK)

Having read the info it sounds more like images for browsing On Demand etc.

Sky Q uses images for all On Demand , recordings , top picks etc.

In my opinion browsing On Demand using images is far easier than trawling through lists of content.

All I want is the latest episode of shows to be on demand quicker. I`m currently still waiting for episode 14 of sleepy Hollow and the new drama from sky one about the guy that goes back in time to try and prevent Kennedy being assassinated (I can`t recall what it`s called now).

Just recently dropped my TV pack to M, got a bargain NOW TV box on Ebay with a three month pass (which works flawlessly on VM Broadband), has all the FOX and Atlantic stuff. Best move i've made, wiped £40 a month of my Virgin Bill, happy days.

---------- Post added at 15:21 ---------- Previous post was at 15:20 ----------

And i only paid £15.00 for the box and pass, three months viewing, it's been a great saving for me.

Yeah but to be fair if mediaboy and others here didn't share this info then we wouldn't know anything

Like we wouldn't know about new channels until launched

We wouldn't have known about superhub 3 or upcoming TiVo 2

On top of that we wouldn't know anything about series link +

Bob 13-04-2016 11:46

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016)

One minor point that I hope this update addresses is the way in which the programmes are listed - it wasn't particularly consistent. Sometimes a series would be contained in a folder but sometimes each episode was listed separately which just looked messy.

It would also be good if HD/SD were just one listing and then you could select the one you want before watching - much neater :)

It would be even better if we had the ability to create & name folders to suit our own personal preferences.

It would be even better if we had the ability to create & name folders to suit our own personal preferences.

I'm pretty sure if you create a Wishlist the folder name is the Wishlist name, so there is an element of customisation.

However to specifically create and manage folders on TiVo itself would require a fairly significant rewrite from TiVo I'd expect, so I can't see that happening any time soon.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2016)

If we could create our own folders, it would certainly be an improvement. I'd like to separate out my recordings into categories eg my dramas, wife's dramas, our dramas, soaps, shows, children's, films.

That would make the task of finding recordings much easier and quicker.

I do think an ability to create folders would be amazing

I've been wondering when the UK Amazon would follow the US Amazon on this one. I watch with interest.

I'm going to stock up on any programming that i'll lose before I downgrade as (apart from most of the Sky channels) the recordings will still be accessible afterwards.

Yes, the Wishlist folder name is the Wishlist name. I did my first Wishlist today.

What's new you handsome gents? When am I getting the new TiVo update? Why did Virgin media hint at teaming up with Netflix and then never did? Will bt sport remain in xl package next year? Isn't the contract up?

What time shall I leave work?

More questions for you all

Well first of all nobody knows when the update will come, but if you get the new TiVo in summer it will ready. Well there is some sort of parentship and the upcoming TiVo series link + works well with Netflix. With free by sport on XL being one of there big selling points then can't see why they change it

We do not see any information on deals with Virgin Media and Broadcasters but we think the BT Sport deal will end at the end of the EPL TV deal - At the end of Season 2018/2019.

This particular update won't be going to any more regions (see post 1225). You'll get a different one at some point, but the dates haven't been set yet.

If or when we can reveal all information we have seen on the DO NOT POST orders we will do so.

The two DNP orders are for:

-Information about what will be on the new TiVo Box.
-The name of the new app that Virgin Media are testing.

You would think they would want to register and generate interest so people don't defect to things like sky

Yes, they could run some 'coming soon' ads without giving too much away.

As they are still modifying the changes, I can understand why they wouldn't want to say too much at the moment, but it looks like the new Tivo will be with us by July.

Can you click on Ukraine Today and let us know what you find please.

I would find it very odd if this channel had been removed for some customers and not others.
