He's very reliable , he told us about Lifetime HD launching and gave the correct channel number when many on here were quizzing him , I have no info to confirm or deny what he's said I guess time will tell.

Ozsats post seems legit sky have removed all info regarding MGMHD from their site and have removed to option to add it as a extra too.

I would guess that Sky would have to give subscribers who pay individually for MGM HD at least a months notice of the channel closing. Like they did for ESPN. So seen as the 17th is now a month away, im sure letters to confirm this will be around shortly. But again, I highly doubt it will close, it might just not be available standalone anymore.

Nope. If other peoples tastes are not a problem for you, why challenge them in the first place?

It is all about personal choice. You decided to get defensive about his post because his opinion differed to yours. I merely raised the same question to you, as you raised to him. I meant no ill-feeling.

If you can't take it etc....

Rubbish, and you know it, this all stems from the last time you picked up on my post regarding grammar, you don't need to troll. I was merely asking a perfectly reasonable question of the OP, as it seems that he has a total dislike for Sky Atlantic and possibly thinks we should all be the same, i'm pretty sure he can speak for himself, or do you police every post? and why add on a stupid comment like "If you can't take it etc" there was nothing for me "not to take"
Maybe you should get out a bit more!

I was not trolling Mad Max, I was a little drunk though. Probably should get out less.:( I'm not sure why you would think this was a continuation of the grammar posts either.

I like to think I do not "police" every post. Perhaps I do? I apologize if I do.

I simply found your post very dismissive and bordering on the offensive. I guess I am little over-sensitive at times. I am sure the OP can speak for his-self, but surely that does not preclude me from posting a response.

I think that you have the wrong end of the stick here! I don't have a total dislike for S A . IMHO, it has a few good shows, but on the whole it's overhyped and I just don't get what all the fuss is about this channel.
Why do I think that we should all be the same when it comes to my personal views about Sky Atlantic?
Isn't this forum open for anyone to chat!

I don't think it's a good idea to involve yourself in other peoples conversations when they are having a disagreement, even on a public forum, as it will inevitably inflame the situation.

Think of it as butting into a heated conversation of two people sat behind you on the bus!

I wonder what's going on, MB recently noticed that his total channels on the EPG had gone up by one, yet mine has decreased by one in the last few days. Local TV in different areas perhaps?

Style was remove from Channel 285 on Sunday Night.

Total Channels on my V+ Box did go up by one on Monday or Tuesday night to 446.

My local tv channel (GTV) launches on Freeview in 2014.

I take this as a deliberate attempt to reignite the previous situation- let us try to get into the Christmas spirit :)

MB, how many channels are on your last page after selecting 'all channels' on the V+ EPG? The total is two on mine, I'm interested to see if they differ.

Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Boxing Day programmes have now been populated on the V+ EPG, so my evening will be spent perusing these days to see what's worth recording whilst away. Hopefully this will give me something to watch one quiet, cold and miserable January night :D

If Scotland goes independent, maybe SKY will launch SKY Thistle showcasing the best of tartan TV. Their line up would such classics as......

Doctor Who Are You Looking At? - (Drama) A self prescribing mentally unstable Doctor from Dundee roams the streets looking for a square go.

Ready, Steady Cook Meth - (Entertainment) The young talent from the Glasgow high rises put their cooking methods to the test in this head to head competition.

The Weakest Drink - (Reality) Reality show trying to ween tramps off Super Tennant's and onto the pish water that is McEwan's Lager.

Total Wipedout - (Entertainment) Drinking game in which young Scots go head to head, pint to pint, to see who is last to be wiped out.

The Booze At 10 - (News) All the latest news on the Scottish Governments attempts to force through the 50p minimum for a unit of alcohol.

Actually, this is something that I tried for the first time recently after being given a complimentary bottle. I wasn't too keen, so may give it to one of the young lads who seem to like it with coca cola.

So if I'm reading that correctly the BBC now wants to charge VM and Sky to carry it's content , don't we already pay for its content via the TV tax , if VM and Sky have to pay to carry this content surely the cost will be passed on to subscribers meaning were paying again for the BBC content , Sky charging the BBC is another argument but VM carry the channels for free and in my opinion shouldn't have to pay the BBC to carry its content.

But Virgin Media have the argument that they do not charge customers to receive the channels and if the PSBs were to remove the channels then they would not be committing to their PSB agreements of equal and fair access.

However Ad-Hoc services like Catch Up (not BBC iPlayer though) should be charged to Virgin Media as these are additional services which boost the platform.

Also its the Television License not TV Tax.

But personally ocav we are already paying enough in the Licence fee for this to be included and the greedy blighters want to suck even more money out of us when we are already paying enough for content as it is already.

Anyway a rumour has surfaced but take it with a pinch of salt , itv are rumoured to be launching a movie channel at some point in 2014.

True, we are going rather off topic. I've not heard anything about ITV launching a movie channel. If it does come to fruition, I wonder if it will be a FTA channel or put behind a paywall??

ITV have stated that they are looking at other income streams (like making most of their HD channels subscription only) because advertising revenue has declined. However, I doubt it will be a rival to the premium movie channels on offer, so maybe it will be FTA if it shows ITV1/ITV3 type films.

It'll be interesting to see what happens regarding itv over the next 12 months or so.
Channels set to launch on vm early 2014 (again rumours until they show up on EPG)
HistoryHD
NatgeowildHD
LifetimeHD
SkysportsnewsHD
SkynewsHD
bbc1+1 (yes this is happening)
News18
od service lovefilm
DisneyHD
DisneyxdHD
Channel4+HD
5later
Sky poker

plus i think vm will expand their on demand library greatly
expect the cbs channels to get the AMC branding too in some form.
I'm not even mentioning a certain Sky channel in my list.

That'd be a nice little collection of channels. i still would like a few of the random channels sky has which we don't. i harp on about fox news but it still amuses me every time i watch it. some of the european channels on sky would be nice too.

That's now the second time in as many months I've heard a suggestion that ITV will launch a dedicated movie channel. 2 seperate sources too.

I can see it being on par with Film4. I suspect it'll be the films you usually see on ITV1 to ITV4 stuck together on one channel.

The more free dedicated movie channels on TV the better.

Virgin Media moves more channels to lower packages for Christmas.

TV 5 is now broadcasting on the M, M+ and L packages on Virgin Channel 825 until January 3rd 2014.

DS Forum is reporting that BT Sport 1 is broadcasting on the M+ and L packages on Virgin Channel 547 until date still to be confirmed.

Two.

Skymovie channels were due to be free to all on m+ and above packages from today for two weeks , sources have told me that Sky pulled out for some reason or another.
I would of thought that Sky would of gone ahead and basically said "look at what you're missing."
I think my source was telling porkies and Skymovies was never going to be free and now my source is trying to cover their tracks.

Id of dismissed that when you read it. Sky Movies will only be ever free when it is on Sky, and certainly not over christmas as that is when people pay for it and watch films. Biggest load of rubbish ever. Glad you sacked that guy.

I think they will keep delaying it, they obviously have seen the viewing figures and can work out that they cannot make it premium on Virgin.

I think they've realised that January is a poor time to start charging for the channel. Far better to wait for people to have a couple of months' salaries and be more financially recovered from Christmas than try and get people to spend more each month when they're still recovering financially from Christmas.

Is this a new package from Virgin?

http://store.virginmedia.com/bundles...al-family.html

Seems the only difference between this and the Premier Collection is 30mb broadband instead of 60mb and no secondary box in your house.

£19.50 per month for 6 months then £39.00 per month thereafter (plus £15.99 per month line rental) is pretty good value.

There's a bug on the VM site - when you select this collection, it defaults to 60Mb broadband instead of 30Mb.

I might get this collection actually, I rarely use the 2nd box and I don't really need 60Mb broadband (who does, really?)

I started a thread on this the other day (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/10...ollection.html) as I think it's defo a good value pack.

theone are there defo more packs coming as I'm currently wanting to upgrade to Premiere for the additional STB but may hang fire if some better value ones are 'coming soon' ;)

I don't see any sign of other Collections on the way. This one is intended to fill a gap in the line-up for people who want the XL TV channels, but not an extra box or the higher broadband speed of Premiere.

From what i've heard there is but take it with a pinch of salt. Spiderplant and Ben would know more about this than me atm.
My most trusted source hasn't said anything about new packs but a other source has said 3 new packs are coming , as i said take it with a pinch of salt atm.

Your source may be correct as I wouldn't be surprised if they either revamp or replace the Premiere & VIP Collections as I do believe that the new Essential Family Collection is great value at £39 + line rental but has slightly devalued the two higher packs.
