Re: Football Season 2011/12

I firmly believe that a major problem is that officials don't have the bottle to send players off or even book them, just for example the Torres red card, the official had the usual big rants Terry and co, arguing with the official.

What should happen, if players dispute the decision made, book them, officials cannot allow this problem to go on.

The company that deals with referee's back there officials to the hilt and suspend those that are bad, BUT they have to be more tougher, as the PL is not about football anymore, its about mega-money, and players are spoilt little brats.

Only recently, we had a player who demanded a hairdryer, as the club they were at, didn't have any, and his club went and got one.

Officials should get tougher.

That doesn't sound especially unreasonable, considering they provide shower facilities.

hmrc looking into the above. the premier leagues like gold, the revenue continues to rise. fergie said himself the product it too strong. downer is other European countries have different rules regarding tax which goes against England so all things have to be taken into account, be too strict and our league might flop.

Easy enough to say Tevez did refuse to come on without actually knowing what happened and just believe the crap that comes out of Mancini's mouth. It's clear to me players are unhappy with Mancini's way of things if you take a look at Dzeko's mood towards him last night.

A key ingredient of being a good manager is not just tactics but as SAF has shown in letting the players know who is boss at the end of the day and as the old saying goes players are there to play and managers are there to boss and tell the players what he wants them to do.

He is, this is from 5 years ago

Arsenal's unexpected success in this year's Champions League stemmed from solid rear-guard performances in the Gunners' defence.

The back four kept a record-breaking 10 clean sheets en-route to the final despite being without injured regulars Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole and Lauren.

"Behind the scenes Martin Keown has been there on the training ground doing his coaching badges and I don't think they could have had better mentors than Keown and Pat Rice.

Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce:

"If Manchester City Football Club prove it, write to Fifa and state the exact circumstances that happened last night then I believe Fifa should have the power, as they do for drugs-related cases and other cases, to ban the player from taking an active part in football. I would have no problem with that whatsoever. It hasn't occurred before but I think what happened last night was despicable."

Boyce, who is life president of the Irish Football Association, says Fifa could prevent him for immediately playing for another club, if City sacked him. "If this player did what he has been accused of doing, then if Manchester City were to release him tonight I don't think it would be right if he could go and earn a considerable amount of money somewhere else next week," added Boyce. "I would have no problems if some sanctions were imposed by Fifa in that respect. People within the clubs and within the top level of Fifa need to discuss this aspect of the game. If Carlos Tevez does it, who's to say someone else doing it the next week or the week after? It could become a massive problem."
Jim Boyce also said, within link that he'd terminate his contract but its whats in the quote above thats interesting. The reason why I replied "it wouldn't be a good move for football as a whole" to denphones call to "kick him out of city" is because obviously it'll be picked up by other players but if Fifa can do the above go for it, throw the book at him!

i bet human rights will get involved

Re: Football Season 2011/12

Not sure of the source for this

Manchester City's lawyers are examining the club's options but it now looks as though Carlos Tevez will not kick a ball again until January at the earliest.

City's legal experts are examining the rule book to find a way of suspending Tevez the maximum of two weeks on a rolling basis until the transfer window opens after manager Roberto Mancini claimed the striker refused to play against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Suspension is a preferable option to sacking the striker and pursuing him for compensation for gross misconduct and breach of contract, a sum which would effectively be paid by the club he signs for in January. However, that option has not as yet been ruled out.

Imposing the initial two-week suspension is only the first part of City's punishment for Tevez after extensive talks between chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Mancini, temporary chief executive John MacBeath and their lawyers, with the club backing the manager against one of City's most prized players.

Tevez earns £200,000-a-week, so would lose around £3 million in wages if City can ban him for the 15 weeks until the transfer window is open again. The internal club suspension will also cost Tevez appearance money and other bonuses, potentially worth £500,000 a week.

That is sure to be challenged by Tevez and his legal team and advisors, while Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor is anxious for round-table negotiations to mediate. This would enable Tevez to move on in January but continue to play in the meantime.

With all due respect to Shamrock, l feel totally embarrassed at being a Spurs fan.

We should have demolished the visitors, they are part timers and we have a load of Internationals, we should have been 5-0 up before half time.

The visitors fans were even singing ' champion league your having a laugh'

Van Persie is who Mancini wants to replace him apparently...

Don't know what City's obsession with buying Arsenal players is, it typically hasn't work out well for them. I am pretty sure they just want to weaken the opposition and Arsenal are the closet team to them that will actually sell as we don't have Chelsea's resources and it's not as politically difficult as it would be for United.

I like the idea of siberia for tevez, or perhaps the russian side Anzhi Makhachkala

They could afford him.

The difference is those were deserved sendings off, this wasn't even a foul ;)

Yes, I am an Arsenal fans and Liverpool's cards in that match were deserved. In this case that tackle from Rodwell wasn't even a foul, let alone a red card. He went in on the floor, with one leg, and won the ball cleanly. Shocker of a decision. :erm:
