What will the full launch include?

denphone 15-05-2011 12:26

Re: sky sports red button

One would hope it includes everything like football first and champions league football and other major sports.

---------- Post added at 12:26 ---------- Previous post was at 11:46 ----------

Looks like no red button for the Scottish title decider today on Virgin.

I have had the same thing happen when we first got SSRB on Tennis . I pressed Red the STB froz and the just a moment box stayed in the bottom left of the screen . A reboot of the box sorted it out.

So far l have not had to do a reboot for the red button.

Me too! I pressed the Red Button earlier to watch Barca playing on SKY Sports 3. The game came on but I couldn't return to normal viewing. That's twice I've tried the Red Button facility and twice my box has become stuck. I think it had a please wait box on the bottom left hand side of the screen on both occasions, that wouldn't go away regardless of what buttons I bashed. 2 times I've had to reboot. Not happy as on both occasions I was recording something at the time, which ruined my recording.

Before I submit feedback to Virgin, does anyone know if this is a common problem? Is it something that Virgin are aware of?

You wait all this time for the Red Button facility and it doesn't even work properly. I pay a lot of money to Virgin each month and expect stable viewing and recording facilities.

Ben B 16-05-2011 00:09

Re: sky sports red button

I always get the Just a moment thing stuck on screen but it does go away eventually. I don't see why it should be so slow when even the BBC red button facility isn't that slow. Admittedly though, that has been a bit buggy on the V+ while Radio 1's Big Weekend has been on.

Yes i agree but i suppose sky have an agreement with vm which means most testing will go on in the background and not "live", i see looking at the football fixtures sky have a fair bit of football in june, not sure if any is on the red button but if it is they may test that would be nice.

Whichever way come next season vm should have the full red button for football as well. Including hopefully on TiVo.:)

I would say almost certainly not. Hopefully by the start of next seasons football we will have the `full red button` features. I`l also be interested to know whether we will be able to record red button events. Can we record BBC red button events? Never tried myself so I don`t know.

Yes we know Stoke v Wigan , what people don't know is if VM will have it.

From what i have been reading muppetman11, i think it very unlikely that any barclays premier league matches will be on red button on VM before the start of the new season in august, although i remain to be surprised.:)

confirmed NOT on vm on sunday from VM twitter team

@virginmedia will the game on sky sports red button be on sunday

@Safc42 I'm afraid not. That feature isn't quite ready yet but we expect it to be all guns blazing by the start of next season. MK

Thats what l thought would be the case with the red button not fully functional until August.

Mine still doesn't work - posted on Support forum 12/05 - No response. Indian Call Centre have advised me twice (we don't have the red button) during a call with them on the missing content.....

V+HD Box - I know I can't be the only one who is suffering a complete meltdown of their box everytime they press the red button to watch whatever sport is available at that time.

No issues with any other aspect of Red Button

To be honest the only issue i really have with VM is their communication with customers, the red button has been launched contrarary to the indian call centres advice to you, although no red button has launched yet on the newer TiVo box,but on your V+HD box cricket, tennis and golf have all been on red button on sky sports, the football is due in august have you spoken to an english call centre yet ?, they are generally much better then the indian ones as you need to report it as a fault.

Have you tried re-booting your box as this sometimes works Red Button did freeze once on mine i re-booted and all was fine.
