How much money did that guy want and how out of touch is he with those that pay his over inflated wages?

True. But he had a contract and if people want contracts to "be worth the paper they are written on" then you can't slag him off.

Im not slagging off Winston at all. As far as Im concerned contracts are there to be honoured by all parties. His club wanted to sell him didn't they, and he said no, as he's entitled too.

Except it's all geared towards the player, if a player wants to go there is very little the club can do to stop him leaving, conversely if he wants to stay there is little they can do to get rid of him other than pay off his contract in full, years ago it was all in the clubs favour and it was just as unfair on the players, now the roles have reversed and its all in the players favour its just as bad, in fact much worse imo

Well, as nobody has mentioned it.....

Good news for United fans...
Ronaldo has signed a new five year contract.....

Quote:

The 22-year-old has pledged his future to United until 2012 and Sir Alex says Ronaldo is at the right club to continue his astronomical development.
I am intrigued in to what his contract says or what he earns each week, anyway.......
Quote:

Sir Alex did, however, deliver stinging criticism of the transfer tactics employed in Spain.
“They keep talking in Spain the way they do and unsettling clubs like ourselves,” he said. “It doesn’t matter to them, I don’t think they have any care for Manchester United or anyone else when they decide to put their net out for the best players in the world. They’ve shown that over the years, they don’t have any regard for how you feel.
“It seems to happen time and time again. There’s no point in reporting it to UEFA or FIFA. It wouldn’t matter to them if you fined them. When it goes on and on, you start looking at the substance to it. It’s a game they play in their election process.

Apparently it is worth £31 million over those five years

11 goals in 2 games, cracking performance today from United although it was only Watford. Wonder who we'll get in the final? I reckon the trophy will be going up north this year. I fancy Blackburn causing an upset against Chelsea and seeing all the other London clubs found themselves ceremoniously booted out of the tournament, I'd say the FA Cup will be spending another year in the Lancashire area.

Ditto premiership.

Ditto Euro Cup.

You dont think a lack of depth was exposed today then, Evra and Fletcher at right back :erm: and I am begining to think Sherer might have a point about the goalkeeper as well, it's only a matter of time before his uncertainty spreads to the rest of the defence, you have only got to look at Chelsea, they are a different team with Cech in goal

Lack of depth? Didn't you hear we've got a slight defence situation, what with Rio now having an injury? As for VDS, he's flapped the odd goal recently but how many has he prevented? This is last season as no 1 anyway.

I'd say they're doing something right. You know, top of the premiership, in to the final of the FA Cup and looking to go the same way in Europe.

:knock: When we have won something...then you can gloat...not before...it tends to jinx it, if you gloat beforehand ;)

That's true - wasn't BB telling us back in August how Arsenal would clean up this year? :D

Rio's a right back is he :dozey:, it's an interesting position, there seems to be a lack of good ones, until the start of this season we didn't have one for over a year, not even one that could do a job and fill in until we got Scaloni on loan, as for VDS the chap on the radio said he thought his uncertainty was due to him receiving a kick in the face recently, he advocated some rough training sessions to sort the problem ;)

the thing on that one is if VDS hadn't flapped at the first cross that came into the box that went right through his hands then he wouldn't have got a kick on the face.. the goal all came from him not dealing with the first ball

TBH he's been making this mistakes ever since he joined us and he did the same at Fulham.. he did this against Roma and Reading and now Watford this season and luckily in those games it didn't matter against Pompey it did

having watched Cech against Blackburn at the weekend he wasn't up to the same standard.. usually he gets the ball off the pitch or claims it but he had a few shakey moments.

only a few more games and then we get Foster
