I wasn't aware that was happening with Barcelona! Top club for donating and advertising in such a way. I now wish there was more of that in the Premiership! :)

Athletic Bilbao were another team who'd never had a shirt sponsor. Until very recently, when they had to give in due to financial reasons.

You have to be Basque to play for them, the ultimate club for producing home grown players, they don't have much other choice.

We had a Basque player a few years back, practically came through the ranks - he left for Bilbao.

Indeed. But having such a narrow selection field, however good their youth setup is, in this day and age will probably see them relegated eventually. They've already come very close in recent years.

well apart from the first 10 minutes barcelona have had nothing to worry about
