GOLD HD was rumour as set to launch today on Virgin Media.

I imagine that VM will want/need to make some technical changes first, which will take time. They will want to reconfigure their network so as not to be running on full capacity and will need to install a line feed. Usually, the SD channels are taken from satellite, with the HD feeds being line fed for extra quality.

What is the significance of these TSid channel moves for VM viewers, MB?

Nothing I'd imagine. Background stuff that won't affect channel numbers or anything a customer would care about.

Some viewers think Virgin Media have no room to launch any new channels but they have two TSid channels free after the UKTV Channels carry on. They can use one of the two TSid Stream for GOLD HD if Virgin Media wanted to.

Virgin may cant even remove them anyway until after November 12th due to the "You have three months to watch your shows your have tape on Your TV.".

You did have three months for all the UKTV shows when they was axe on July 22nd.

Anyhow as I posted for years I do not work for Virgin Media so I was just posting my own views.

Now now, you can’t possibly imply that an HFC network delivering both broadband and tv is more complex than the understanding of “sources”.

Do we really NEED any more "new" channels though with the same mind dumbing reality nonsense and the amount of repeats of NCIS on half a dozen different channels?
Surely VM should now be looking to invest in the future and boost its high quality streaming/on-demand content, with both 3rd party apps and its own exclusive rights offerings.
Let Sky lead the way with their 500 channels of repeats and drivel, and VM be the UK "go to" main provider option for streaming and on-demand content to compliment its Netflix offering.
Surely this is the future?

I agree, with the latest new additions, Virgin Media now has every significant TV channel available in the UK except for MTV Classic, Sky Atlantic and AMC.
