Is it the commentators saying it, or the on screen graphics? If the graphics, then it might be a feed that the BBC are forced to use.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

After 34 phone calls over Thursday/Friday/today (and not including those to the District Nurses when I had a problem yesterday), I finally have an appointment to have the equipment removed and associated tests.

Considering I was given the option of staying in hospital for three days on the 25th June and having the catheter removed and the tests on the Tuesday in the hospital, or be being discharged and having the procedure/tests 10 days later, I tried to do the right thing, and gave up my bed.

I have now found out that my paperwork was lost between departments, and the referral went through today, and I can't be seen until the 19th August because the nurse who manages the clinic is on holiday until then.....

So, instead of 10 days, it will be 24 - to say I am not happy is probably an understatement...

I hope you get it sorted as soon as possible!

My (little) moan of the day, my fear of needles is starting to get in the way of my testing, they had to persuade me quite forcefully to allow them to put a cannular in today.

I really REALLY hate needles :(

<<<<hugs>>>> You have dealt with some of the most horrible things and this phobia about needles can't have helped. Would it be possible to sort out some form of cognitive therapy or hypnotherapy?

In the mean time I have found this PDF which may have some points you haven't tried.

I'll just have to get over it - I can't not do the tests. I have downloaded the PDF for a read - cheers :)

I can understand that fear dilli.

Dilli have you considered Bach rescue remedy spray http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/sho...0038579?c=bach That's if your medication allows you to take this of course and if not maybe the Doctor could give you something. I have used this spray myself for anxiety that I experienced this year and I did feel it helped me.

Take care.

Really do not like the new VM email system atm but I'm sure I will get used to it.

Good luck, and our thoughts are with you, dilli.

Further to my saga, I had had enough this morning, and rang my GP to have a discussion, and talk about options.

We agreed a way forward, and I had the District Nurse come out and remove the catheter this afternoon, and so far everything is working fine - what a relief (in so many different ways.... :D).
