Just to repeat...

No decision has been made on rolling out the software yet. The decision isn't made until the day before it actually happens. (What would be the point of a trial where you ignored some of the results?)

It will then take a few weeks for the software to get to everyone.

Remember its a new company, and they may want to try a national rollout so they can display Opera tv, Netflix (With user Profiles) HTML5 Applications before the change freeze. To do this all Tivos must have been upgraded to be able use it

On every software update, a proportion of boxes fail to update correctly. If they were all done at the same time, some people would be left without a working service for weeks until a technician could get to them. That's why rollouts are always done in a controlled way.

It's 6 or 7 weeks to the change freeze. That's enough time to do a controlled rollout and more.

Is the update still due to begin its roll out tomorrow?

Yes and no. We're planning downloads for tomorrow, but will then pause to review how well it goes before deciding when to continue.

Guessing the areas this will happen in are not going to be announced like last time?

I prefer not to say until it's done in case there's a problem or late change of plan.
Anyway, today's lucky victims are:

Carlisle
Coventry
Dundee
Edinburgh
Exeter
Hemel
Lewisham
Warwick

In Edinburgh. Box on this morning and updated. Quick go before work, speedie. Some cutdown menu options, very good! Will test Iplayer and suggestions out later!

Coventry has been done. New look this morning. Looks better and clearer. I'll check functionality later.

Both my boxes in Dundee updated successfully. Not got time to play with the update this moring but first impressions are that I like the new font but I don't like the colour scheme. However as I am colour blind my opinion on colour is not to be trusted.
