Cable Forum - Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010) Vol. I

i presume that means everyone who has been moved to NGTV will get the new HD channels and people who are still waiting to be moved to NGTV will be left to wait possibly till june..

Analogue switch off, anyone remember that?:)

NGTV is neither here or there, if VM don't have the capacity in a area they can't launch the HD channels.

Whilst it's disappointing, I don't think anyone can disagree with that statement. After all the good news of the past few weeks the last couple of days have been a bit of a downer with this news, plus finding out the V HD box is going to cost me Â£110!

Looks like I'm going to be one of those posters asking when NGTV is launching in my area every few days now :D That's Newton Abbot headend by the way lol ;)

EDIT: So basicly the HD channels wont OFFICIALLY launch April 1st like they said...ITS A STUPID ROLLOUT :( - THIS P**SES ME OFF

...and breathe. I'm pretty sure that others who have to wait until nearer to June will be more annoyed about the situation. As they have already started Manchester, then it does look as if the NGTV switch in Oldham is going to be soon. Patience is key...

I live in Knowsley and couldnt find our area on the NGTV rollout, do we come under Manchester? Liverpool/Knowsley wasn't on the list.

Also on Extreme Sports Channel now too, enjoyed there tv shows last few weeks.

So does anyone know whether the ngtv roll out is the cause of the delay or the analogue switch off? There is no point people checking to see if they are in an ngtv enabled area if it's not the deciding factor.

What headend do i look for in Wigan. Only cable could do this offer channels to some and not to others. Do the ones who cant get the channels get a refund of Â£1.50 a month.

doubt VM would refund you Â£1.50 per month just because you dont get channels till later.

Why is the box costing Â£110 when the V+ hd is only Â£75 at the moment?
Also I think the V+ is going to be on offer cheaper in april.

Analogue was switched off in Coventry eons ago. No sign of Cov being NGTVed yet. :(

Hell, Cov was chosen for the 200Mb broadband trials, so bandwidth isn't an issue here....unless the new HD channels require additional bandwidth from switched video functionality which NGTV provides.

im just a messenger and i really dont know why VM dont issue a timetable of of when NGTV will be rolled out. to be honest i think VM have handled things badly from the slow HD uptake, Analogue awitch off and the NGTV roll out, now to add the staggered launch of the next phase of HD channels due to NGTV roll out being slower then anticipated is bound to cause dissapointment to a vast percentage of their Tv subcribers.
its great to get these new channels for free but its still a poor show off VM to stagger the launch.
