Hi all. Been viewing for a while, just never got round to registering. Just to add to the Spotify offer above, our 3 month free subscription on VIP was running out so we phoned up to find out if there were any offers available yet. We were immediately given another 12 months free without having to argue any case with them. Might be worth you giving them a call?

I'm pretty sure there will still be fees incurred , the software on the Horizon box surely still belongs to NDS (Now Cisco).

You are correct. But licence fees aren't that important to an operator anyway, as they are predictable and can be factored into ongoing subscription fees. The cost of the box and how reliable it is are far more important.

BT seem to have acquired a few of the HD channels not currently available on VM

History HD
C&I HD
Nat Geo Wild HD

"Yeah you can have Sky with 200 channels for X amount of month or with us you get the same 200 channels with a box which does primarily the same function (watching and recording tv) but has a few little extras in and that would be X+£5 a month"

Which one is more appealing to the 'general' customer

Yeah we all know which European channels you're on about :p::p::p::D:D

Well that dispels the myth that these channels are exclusive to SKY in the UK. It also shows, for History HD and C&I HD, that just because SKY have a stake in these channels doesn't mean they aren't accessible to their competitors.

As others have posted, no reason why Virgin can't go for these channels too.

Lets just take a moment of silence to think of those Sky viewers who may lose their television service tonight in the storms.
