Teletext to shut down in 2010.

Teletext will cease all transmissions - analogue and digital - of its main text services including those on ITV, Channel 4 and Five in January 2010.

:erm: Wow that's a bit strange that they would also pull digital text. Are they also going to pull teletext extra which has been downloaded to some freeview boxes?

Setanta Sports UK fall out: Scotland game to be shown on BBC Two on August 12th.

Football web site ''Live football on TV'' say BBC has win the rights to show Norway VS Scotland on August 12th.

Sky and ESPN was rumoured to be biding for the rights as well.

I have no news on ESPN but Virgin's web site has given them an EPG Channel.

I think the hold up is over costs for ''us'' viewers.

Thats good news for virgin as they're still figuring out how it installs on cable, so one less headache for them after 10 years or so of no teletext.

Is Virgin Media set to broadcast this years Edinburgh Festival?

I have been told today that the Edinburgh Festival is testing offline right now in an Ex-Telewest area in Scotland and Virgin has even given it an EPG Channel number.

The EPG Channel is 450.

That makes sense Stephen, I suppose the amount of people who'll now upgrade to XL-TV will cover the cost of any new channels.

Not me. No Sky HD, no SciFi HD. As far as I can tell no plans either :-(

They were never going to get Sky HD. It amazes me how many people seemed to think they would/will any time soon.

... or 3. That'll be Sky Sports' choice at the time of each match. I don't think their Extra or Interactive (not available on VM) feeds do HD yet, but they could change that.
