One change VM need to make is that Christmas football advertisement on the on-demand service. It has a line about FA Cup football being on BT sport. Whoops!

Does it? I thought it was about having "all the football" on VM, and since they carry the services that have the FA Cup that part is true. I swear I saw a bit with an asterisk at the bottom about Amazon needing a separate subscription for example.

I wasn't paying full attention as I wasn't particularly interested, but that's how I remember it the times I've seen it.

It's still there. Must be using last year's promo.

ITV have the rights along with BBC. BT sport's last match was the fa cup final

Virgin Media to offer Virgin Media UHD channel for free this christmas.

From Saturday 18th December until Friday 31st December, Virgin TV customers with a Virgin TV 360 or V6 box can enjoy our Virgin TV UHD channel (CH 228/999) at no extra cost.

Perhaps I am being cynical but it seems that only subscribers on the lower tier packages get offered these free goodies. Those on the top tier (Ultimate Oomph/Volt) never seem to be included in such Christmas gifts as they already get Virgin UHD as part of their package.

The aim is to get those on lower packages to upgrade as they are effectively being given a free trial.

They cannot offer it to you as an extra because you already have it - as 1andrew1 Posted, it is a cost nothing option attempting to get those without it to try it and then subscribe.

I would much rather have Sky Sports UHD for Christmas.

I get why they are trying to upsell those on the lower tiers, but it would be better if Virgin acknowledged those of us on the top tier and gave us a PPV film or something now and again. Sky do this under their VIP scheme.

I get that. Some other kind of freebie for those that pay for the top tier would be nice.

I think you are missing the point - free UHD over Christmas is a loss leader to encourage people to upgrade thus potentially increasing future revenue.

Giving top tier customers freebies gains nothing

I wasn't notified of any subscription pack code changes this morning, so I've asked and been told that it is still marked as "Full House" only. The community pages also seem to have messages saying it isn't available. Strange! Maybe everyone is on the naughty list. :D
