Mancini got his just deserts tonight, I mean to say, a defender sent off so replace a forward with a defender fair enough, but not two in short order , deJong for Silva smacked of desperation.

Not sure what to make of that as an Arsenal fan. Chelsea have moved ahead of us again in the battle for the Champions League spots and now have some momentum. However City won't beat our unbeaten record and might have a confidence blow ahead of our trip up there on Sunday.

Do you really care about the unbeaten record that much?

I think i'd be more concerned with a backlash rather than it being a confidence blow.

they'll be fired up next weekend thats for sure. they have always had it in for us from the start with them mentally fixed on us going out the top 4 when in reality it was always going to be someone else :p:

agree that Mancini made a bent move taking Silva off. i ran out to the shop in a bloody mini storm missing the sending off, taking off etc. :(

well if the fans count as well as they spell/read it wont make a difference :D:D

Spurs were unhappy with the performance of referee Chris Foy who controversially sent off Younes Kaboul and disallowed an Emmanuel Adebayor goal.
But it is four-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy who has been blamed in an embarrassing case of mistaken identity.
The cyclist received several messages criticising what fans thought was his refereeing.

Modibo Maiga is in Newcastle having a medical ahead of a proposed £7 Million move to Tyneside.

New strike partner for Demba Ba. Feel a defender will also be bought given the current proof that the squad lacks depth, especially in defence.

Other rumours up here is that Tiote has already agreed to sign for Chelsea.

One last thing. Both Maiga and Ba will be playing in the African Cup of Nations..... So top tip is.. If you need a new striker buy one that's going to absent for a length of time.

Nice to have it. It's quite a cool thing for the club to have done, zero losses in the entire 38 game league.

Meh, Don't expect to get anything from the game anyway.

It looks like Darren Fletcher is going to be out for the season because of this stomach illness he has been suffering with. So we surely have to buy someone in January, it will be interesting if we go for a big name or not. Normally Ferguson would avoid it because they will be cup tied in Europe, which obviously isn't an issue this season, but could mean top players wont want to come. Or could there be a shock move for an ex number 7? ;)

Well, it's better to avoid it because the cost is higher. Granted Ferguson isn't so stupid as to blow £35 million on an Andy Carroll but it still represents worse value. United needed a central midfielder prior to Fletcher's illness (get well soon) anyway, especially one with some creativity, I was surprised they didn't appear to be after Modric.

I think before Fletcher's illness we would have been ok until the summer, with Anderson and Cleverly back soon hopefully. But now he's out we could have a few problems, although they could be eased with being out of Europe already.

To be honest I don't think Fletcher's absence will be a big deal. You've been without him rather frequently and the last few years he hasn't been that impressive. United need a great creative play maker again.

I think if he can stay fit, Cleverley can be that player. We've been a much better side in the games he's played in this season but obviously he has a long way to go to prove he can be that player.

You have got to remember 2 things one is Cleverly won't be back for at least another 4 to 6 weeks and then he has to get back into form very quickly and after that you have to remember he is still a young player where performances can be inconsistent at times for younger players so in my mind Man Utd need to buy in the transfer window to sustain their Premiership challenge.

Manchester United must sign a goalscorer as well as replacements for injured duo Darren Fletcher and Nemanja Vidic, says ex-United star Paul Ince.

"I'm sure Sir Alex will take stock and he'll be looking at what type of player he will need in January and it won't just be in midfield, I'm sure he's looking at a centre-half with Vidic being out.
