The new channel by A+E networks BLAZE which launches 20th September will not be launching on VM at launch to start with it will be online, freeview and sky/freesat.
It is hoped it will come to VM before the end of the year.

Well, with the highlighted programmes being Pawn Stars and American Restoration, it's not like we are missing much. So many of these programmes can be seen on other channels anyway, so Blaze looks like being a waste of space.

Exactly it's new content you want new channels are worthless if they show endless repeats off channels you already receive.

Yes but keep in mind sometimes the grass is not greener on the otherside.
Contact VM retentions and see what they can do for you in my past experience retentions have always been pretty good to give a decent deal.

Think it's really aimed at the Freeview/Freesat market so only has second or third run rights. Pay TV subscribers will have had the chance to see the shows before.

Sky Sports Mix

http://virginmediapresents.com/#all/...uilder_issue34

I might be wrong but from what I read we'll get probably Sky Sports Mix SD on most packages but only those who subscribe to Sky Sports in SD will get Sky Sports Mix HD.

Well guessed there would be a catch.

I expect it will actually be for those whose subscribe to XL otherwise that would be ridiculous

Small print says you need Sky Sports SD to get it in HD.

So looks like all non Sky Sports subscribers will get get Mix in SD only. Silly really as you'll look at the quality of SD and think it's not worth getting Sky Sports as picture so bad, lol

The small print usually says this - it means you can't subscribe to Sky Sports HD unless you already subscribe in SD. Basically, you can't just pay £7pm for Sky Sports 1-5!

Given Sky Sports Mix content will already be available in HD to all Sky Sports subscribers, there is little point in Mix HD unless it's going to be made available to non Sports subscribers.

I really do hope you are right. Given history of channel launches on VM I'm automatically pessimistic.

I was thinking that the only reason they might do this is try and get SD subscribers to upgrade to HD.
