3) One box only & Tivo is NOT the model favored.

All is subject to contracts of cause but these are the company aims.
Would look t be in place within the next Five years

BIB is the Horizon box i'm suspecting as i've heard talk about Horizon and it's already up and running in Ireland and across LGs network in Europe.

BLOCKBUSTER NEWS

Movie Rental chain Blockbuster still remains open despite tough online competition, over priced rentals and lack of stores throughout the country.

Local woman who cannot be named as she currently is owing her late fee said "what's the point?"

That the sort of news you wanted Vince?

I seriously hope that isn't the case. Tivo has been a massive success for VM so they should leave well alone.

We would lose one of the best features, Whishlists, if they swapped from Tivo.

You forgot to add if you use their games and movie rental it's very rare you'll get a game even if your top 10 is only games , also not to mention they don't answer the phone.

That was my impression of what would happen when Liberty announced they were buying VM. Uniform branding and channels are relatively easy to do. Merged tech takes more effort.

But Liberty are also hoping, according to reports, to merge their Dutch and Belgium cablecos together, as a step towards merging all their European cable interests into one company. Although a sea of debt and tax issues appear to be the main reasons why this may not happen anytime soon.

I was so frustrated with that i ditched them and went to Boomerang who are quite frankly brilliant. I have had 6 of my 8 pre order rentals so far on day of release. I would like to add they don't bother to answer emails either. Waited 2 weeks for them to send me a rental, emailed to complain and they did not even reply.

Hopefully by the time they get all that sorted, with the increase of online content, I will have 'cut the cord'. If they dump Tivo, that would be even more of an incentive.

In answer to your request I thought such fairy tales had stopped. As they have not, I will post as & when I wish too. For trouble read "real world" not (put what you will here. )

The content of this thread is available for you to read, which I assume you did before posting.

You would, therefore, have been made aware of the content, so I do not accept your claim that you thought that the nature of this thread had changed.

One can only conclude that you chose to post your negative comments out of a desire to stir up trouble once again.

Live rugby league, hockey, football and more!
We've got some fantastic news for all you sports fans. We've signed the brilliant new sports channel Premier Sports. And to mark the occasion, we're giving it to all our customers for one month, at no extra cost.

Premier Sports is the only place to view all 28 games of this autumn's Rugby League World Cup. So alongside England's games, you can watch Wales and Scotland taking on the likes of Australia and New Zealand too.

That's not all. Premier Sports is the home of North America's NHL ice hockey, NASCAR Trucks and South American football from Argentina and Brazil, so you can spot the Neymar and Lionel Messi of tomorrow!

Tune in to Premier Sports (CH 551) from Friday 25th October to catch all the action. And, remember, it's free for all our customers until the end of the year.

This is VM we are talking about, they are known for their poor communication skills on all levels. Let's h8pe that Liberty Global will resolve this long standing problem ;-)

But all the above is what this thread is about; and we love it. We don't take everything as gospel, and have fun with the information, real or unreal.

It seems to me that this thread just simply isn't for you.

Indeed, but itshim seems to get his pleasure from spoiling the enjoyment of others when the fancy takes him.

That's more like it :)

Well, it doesn't surprise me that LG are going for uniform branding, but this is the first time I've heard it being mooted.

I am also not surprised that LG will be looking to an exit strategy for TiVo. Their own Horizon box is in use elsewhere and would save them having to pay licencing fees to TiVo.

I wonder if the Horizon software can be dropped onto the existing TiVo boxes??

Perhaps the Horizon box could be incorporated to include Wishlists (and anything else worth having from TiVo)??

Horizon will save VM money and possibly customers too (maybe this change will put a stop to the multiroom per TiVo charge or the actual TiVo charge itself)??

Much of the Tivo functionality, such as Whishlists is patented, so that is highly unlikely in my view. That is why Tivo have gained a lot of money through winning law suits recently, from other ST Boxes using Tivo functionality without agreement and paying Tivo for the use.
