Tivo coming tuesday.

I'm getting a bit worried about some of your comments about the backwards epg and search for OD content. I thought this had been beta tested with staff?

And now I read the remote record doesnt work?

Can someone confirm that as I'm apparently entering into a new 12 month contract (never actually mentioned at the point of ordering) I can back out before a set period?

The backward EPG was a feature very heavily marketed in communication so I would expect it to work at the point of install. Or is that unreasonable?

It is a new 12 month contract. I was expecting it to work from the off as well, but hopefully they'll sort it asap as I love my Tivo!!! :D

Hounslow, West London. I think it comes under Hayes as far as Virgin is concerned.

Doesn't seem to be regional but the common thread is that we had our tivos installed in the last few days!

Can you remember if yours was ok from the start or did you have to wait for the epg to fill in.

If I press a programme with the little c beside, it takes me to TVOD then I have to search for it

Then you are one of the many! Faults are aware of it and trying to rectify the problem but it might be an idea to phone them to tell them your experiencing the problem too so they can log it and get an idea of how many people this is effecting.

Am I reading this right ? TIVOs search function doesn't find OD programming.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

I've seen loads of posts on here and on the TiVo Help & Support forum referring to the problems people are experiencing with their TiVo, in particular their TiVo's rebooting regularly.

I've got my install scheduled in for 30th April, but quite worried by the number of bugs that seem to be arising since the main launch. If it wasn't for the free install offer, I'd be tempted to cancel and wait a few months for things to (hopefully) settle down. The last thing I want is to have loads of programmes not recording or ruined through random reboots.

Maybe VM's free install offer wasn't just pure generosity, after all. Perhaps they knew such issues were likely to arise and without the offer the sign up rates for TiVo would significantly drop off once these problems became public.

All new technology has problems , you only have to look at the Freeview HD PVR's that were launched about a year ago ie 3View,Digital stream and even Humax. They all had problems and some still do.
That is why I have stayed away from TiVo, I will give it a year to sort its self out.

Thanks Gill! Sorry if I came across as bossy but I was anxious to get as many as possible to report the problem so that they would take it seriously.:)

I'm not a bossy person, honest!;)
