(this isn't aimed at you btw mobes lol i'm just using your post as a reply base :p: )
New rumour has come to light taking it with a pinch of salt though FOX+24 is rumoured to be launching early 2015 on vm, sky and talktalk.
However talktalk don't have any + channels apart from their freeview channels so i'm very sceptical about this rumour but hey at least it's some kind of news lol.

---------- Post added at 12:12 ---------- Previous post was at 12:10 ----------

2015 has been pencilled in for Amazon prime (rumoured) vm customers will be given a 6 month free trial for instant video only, similar to the Netflix promotion aka new customers or exsisting customers re-contracting etc.

I quite enjoy the debates, rampant speculation that happens on here and never ending quest for SA and the missing HD channels. However, we all know that if we stuck to what was actually coming soon, it would be a pretty dire thread. I think a discussion about Scotland is quite relevant because it may very well change what is coming to VM. The BBC question is quite important. Also can a devolved Scotland dispense with LG/VM and could a Scottish company create its own LG partnership cable company? I genuinely do not know the answer, I am happy to called an idiot for not knowing it. That would effect what is coming to Virgin TV.

What should we talk about? Instead Sky Atlantic? We all know that descends into arguments between the lovers of it and those who don't care for it, and there is no new news. What about Universal HD? Oh, no known news. Any other missing HD channels? Nope, no known news. What about the various channels Sky, Smallworld et al all have that VM don't, Once again, no new news. How about some news on new apps? Nope, nothing confirmed there either. I know a number of people dislike rumours on here too, so lets not bring up any rumours either. Not sure what there would be left on here to talk about.

That paragraph is, of course, tounge in cheek, but I hope you see my point.

I really hope the thread continues as it is, with all it's speculation and rumours and the various different topics, and that we allow the mods to tell us when over step the line.

Bad move by Amazon in my opinion. I believe people are starting to use streaming services for the convenience they offer. This convenience should also include having a broad choice of technology to use said streaming service on.

If they had not crocked my Love Film app on my smart TV I'd still be a subscriber or if they had released in on Roku I'd have been a subscriber although perhaps Now TV had a hand in this decision.

I'm pretty sure there was a report earlier in the year suggesting that Netflix had seen significant growth in the UK and a large part of this was due to the presence of Netflix in a TiVo box.

Instead Amazon are pushing their own device in an already busy market.

How sure are you of this? The last I heard was that Virgin were making positive noises but Amazon were still contemplating their navels! I thought there were major technical issues to be sorted out first.

I don't know anything about anything technical, but isn't Amazon Instant video already on US TiVo? If so what major technical issues could possibly exist?

Amazon tv fire launches next month i think Amazon wanted to give Amazon instant video a few months head start on that before launching it onto ROKU, TIVO and other devices.
As far as i know only ps3/4 xbox360/one have the amazon instant video app at the moment.
My source who told me this is fairly reliable and does have their fingers in a few pies so to say lol.

I've no idea, andy, but the article I read some time ago mentioned this. Maybe the technical issues are not too problematical to resolve, but I am conscious of the disaster that is the BBC i-Player.

I do hope that we soon have access to this service. In my view, VM should be concentrating on acquiring a number of various streaming services, some to be added to a separate package and others on pay per view. Content is key, and this is the way to get it.

As time goes on, this is what people will be talking about, not when will be the next even more outrageous reality channel launch with its endless commercial breaks.

I have never encountered buffering issues since throughout my 5years with VM. The on-demand services through Tivo work perfect....saying that, it will probably crash tonight :D

It must be because VM are thinking you are a tight-wad...make the jump to light speed...well 156mb and everything will run smoothly haha :D

actually before I post this, no VM employee has suggested this to me, it's just a light tongue-in-cheek remark :D :dunce:
