Scotland Yard detectives investigating phone hacking at the News of the World are examining the call records of four newly discovered Apple iPhones issued to senior executives at News International.
The smartphones, issued by O2 in a contract beginning in October 2009, included a handset given to James Murdoch, the former chairman and chief executive of News Corp Europe. Despite billing for the phones totalling nearly £12,000 between June last year and May this year, neither Operation Weeting nor the Leveson Inquiry was told of the existence of the smartphone accounts.
Now things may get interesting..:erm:

I wonder if these phones will shed any new light? Also if they will cause any problems for the people that had/have them?

I wonder if they are able to call anyone back to Leveson if new information comes to light from the phones?

Leveson speaks out about the case of his 'complaints' about Gove's interventions. He also gives a 'victim's' view of being on the recieving end of really poor journalism.

I believe this was in response to a Daily "Wail" article:

Rupert Murdoch’s News International came under more pressure last night to find and hand over to police a lost iPhone.

The company said it had found three of the four Apple smartphones issued to former executive chairman James Murdoch and three other executives.

It comes after the Sunday Mirror revealed the existence of the phones and concerns they could contain texts and emails of interest to the police probe into phone hacking.

NI’s confirmation at the High Court it had found three of the iPhones triggered calls last night for it to track down the fourth phone as a “matter of urgency”.

Another busy day at Leveson.I get the feeling that it's mainly get to the dregs before finishing up..

David Mellor (former MP) and Norman Lamb MP among today's witnesses.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation has announced plans to split the $60bn media giant into two companies.
The move should ringfence News Corp's profitable film and media business from its UK newspaper business, which is embroiled in a phone-hacking scandal.
News Corp's Fox networks in the US and its stake in UK satellite broadcaster BSkyB would form a film and media unit.
What is the betting that at a later date there will be another bid for BSkyB and this time there won't be a monopoly issue?

Yes very true but let's wait and see what the fit and proper test comes back with from Ofcom (if anything)

But not really, it looks like he has spat out his dummy over the humilation, he has apparently told Fox Business channel that he would be "a lot more reluctant" to invest in Britain now, compared to the US.
