That pretty much leaves sport and sky movies that are watched? The two things that VM have zero change of getting in HD this side of hell freezing over (or the ofcom ruling, whichever comes first).

Just because I've made a few joke posts does not make me childish, they should be taken for what they are, jokes. If you look past these few posts you refer to, I feel I've added as much to this forum as you or anyone else.

Quite simply I dont agree with you Nook29.... Your wanting to introduce a "face palm" emoticon is a mechnisim to cut short an opinion implying that it is not worthy of continued discussion. Everybodys opinion is valid (yes even yours). I dont actualy object to your use of the face palm emoticon but if you do use it then dont be surprised if people think it is a childish way to carry on a debate. Lets face it (excuse the pun) if I recall correctily the "talk to the hand coz the face aint listening" mentality grew up through caracters designed to be funny (EG Cathrine Tates characters), so dont be surprised if people think you are a bit daft for wanting to use it.

Like you I get a bit fed up if people continualy repeat the same opinion again and again, but it is their opinion and they are entitled to express it. If I am getting fed up with an individuals posts I just scroll past them.

I hope you continue to contribute to the forum, I have enjoyed your posts as much as some peoples and less than some others. But it would be great if you didnt feel the need to attempt to belittle a persons opinion just because you find it repetative or not worthy (and yes I am aware that you say you have only usd face palm 4 times in the last month.... 4 times more than most other people have felt necessary).

That's got nothing to do with a facepalm. A facepalm is used to express complete and utter disbelief, and is far older than catherine tate.

Facepalming has nothing to do with the 'talk to the hand' thing, a facepalm is a symbol of despair at something stupid. Info.

I am aware they're entitled to their opinion, but I only ever facepalm their opinion when they seem to think if something doesn't please them then it's rubbish. I'm not belittling trying to belittle to their opinion, I'm letting them know what they're saying is ridiculous. If I was belittling opinion, I'd reply to everyones post which doesn't share my view on the announced channels with several facepalms, which as you may have noticed, I haven't.

Fair doos, I was wrong in what I thought a Face Palm was..... But the point still stands it is a way of trying to cut short a debate

(perhaps like this one should be ;) )

Incidentaly I didnt say that Cathrine Tate started what I thought a face palm was - I just used her as an example (hence the use of EG before her name ;) )

Personally I think this is viable but the timescale involved probably means it isn't realistic. There's an awful lot to put in place before the start of the season. Do Celtic and Rangers own their Sky epg slot? Who would produce shows, take subscriptions, sell rights overseas?

Setanta made a lot of money when the only thing they had on their portfolio was the SPL. Celtic and Rangers have a phenomenal worldwide fan base.

I was quite happy to be one of the first subscribers to Setanta for the Scottish football and would be quite happy to subscribe to SPL TV or what ever they would call it. I just don't see it happening..

I dnt think they do but i am pretty sure they coudl afford to buy one form a smaller company, but the biggest problem is who would produce it and the fact there unlikely to be able ot do hd

They could always go the same route ESPN have, and outsource the live coverage to Sky and have Sky be responsible for ad sales, and then they can just produce the studio segments inhouse, which would be a lot cheaper.

None of those would really benefit from HD anyway.

Your telling me. This is why I wish you could pick-n-mix your own package 'cause were paying a lot for stuff we don't watch. If anyone is wondering if I watch cable I watch discovery or any Newcastle matches :D

My channels watched mostly are the beeb, itv1,2,3 and 4, channel 4 and 5, Tcm and sky movies and sports. Nat geo discovery and history would also squeeze into the viewing. I notice a few people refer to the vod and filmflex for a larger selection of Hd but who in their right mind will pay for these overpriced films that can only be watched within 24 hours when you can literally puchase a dvd for the same price " if not cheaper" and watch as many times as you like.
