And I couldn't be more delighted that I've found it, it'll certainly come in handy for some of the posts made here.

Perhaps it is because I am old that I do not have the faintest idea what people are on about, or what relevance it has to COMING SOON TO VIRGIN TV (2009)

It has nothing to do with it, for some reason a couple of people wanted to make a big deal about me expressing my opinion.

I would be more than happy for this topic to go back on topic.

Wow the announced hd channels are really really poor.

Anyone know if there is an extra charge for them?

Free to XL customers. They may not be to your tastes, but it's a start at least.

Don't get me wrong I know it's a start but a pretty poor one. Things can only get better and thanks for the info

Its not a poor start at all. Nat Geo and Living are very popular channels, same goes for FX.

Might not be the greatest channels but they are popular so that is logically the best place to start.

For me and my family they are the least watched channels on the v+ service but peoples opinions on taste differ so each to their own :)

Not sure if that's the best idea, how will the two clubs be able to afford it? That money would be better used elsewhere from their point of view.

Because they will probally ge tteh fans to pay them direct, which will gerente a lot of money fo them, rangers and celtic adn the two biggest fan base clubs in the world so if fans are garantee to see ever match of there ever week then it oculd be a big money spinner for them

That's a fair point, be interesting to see what happens.

I posted this earlier:

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...pn-page-6.html

Personally I think this is viable but the timescale involved probably means it isn't realistic. There's an awful lot to put in place before the start of the season. Do Celtic and Rangers own their Sky epg slot? Who would produce shows, take subscriptions, sell rights overseas?

Setanta made a lot of money when the only thing they had on their portfolio was the SPL. Celtic and Rangers have a phenomenal worldwide fan base.

I was quite happy to be one of the first subscribers to Setanta for the Scottish football and would be quite happy to subscribe to SPL TV or what ever they would call it. I just don't see it happening..

What would be your most watched channels?

I'm just wondering what people really expected, I'd say that these are some of the most watched channels that are available to VM in HD, so I don't really know what else people expected?

Other than these the only other real priorities would be Ch4, ITV, and Eurosport, followed closely by Discovery, History and Sci-Fi.

Of those ITV is tied up to freesat still, and the rest VM are apparently in negotiations with (or in the case of Ch4 apparantly have a deal done for) and some have apparently even been testing.
