Hey, if people give it, they should be able to take it.

VM have done really well getting BT sport in XL, and I say that as someone who won't even watch it. When the other rumoured channels arrive, VM will surely be 'the provider' to have. This is cause for celebration among VM users, but may upset a few users of other providers.

Why would a user of another provider be upset , it's great for competition it basically just means the competitors have to come out with something new to keep their customers happy or risk people switching basically a win win for everyone.

Your comment was valid either way mate, I have no worries with what you said. I call a spade a spade and I expect (and prefer) others to do the same:)

I did not see much of the game as I was at the gym for most of the game, but the 10-15 minutes or so I did see, the picture quality was excellent and there was no breaking up.
It seems odd that BT could not provide a picture to their own subscribers, but VM could provide seemingly excellent coverage. Is there a known reason for this?

BIB. True, but at least one person needs to know when to stop.

If the possible other channels arrive, it will be fantastic for VM. As I said last night, I will be fascinated to see how Sky will counter VM's possible line up after Sept. 14th:)

It was only a problem with the BT Sports app and online streaming as far as I'm aware, apparently affected people who logged in after the match started. Don't think TV viewers were affected

I am reacting to the rather asinine statements others are making. But fair dos, perhaps i should just let them say it and ignore.

Watching the lead up to the game yesterday on BTS1HD, and the picture quality was amazing, and felt the whole feel of the show was new and fresh, and made Sky Sports look quite dated.

Yes the picture quality was superb and its great that there is a new kid on the block as it will make Sky up their game which is no bad thing.

I only saw the last ten minutes or so, but the HD picture was very very good. And I thought the much complained about DOG was actually alright as well. I did quite like the picture in picture box that came up to show the reactions of players who had been involved in the last phase of play whilst the main picture showed the game ongoing. Actually "quite like" is damning it with faint praise, I thought it was an excellent idea.

I switched over the the SD channel for a comparison, and I thought it was possibly the worst quality I've ever seen. The thought that HD is £3 more per month did cross my mind!

Michael Owen suprised me as being actually quite a capable co-commentator, his studio performances for the beeb have been wooden. And I've forgotten for a minute which ex-ref was alongside him, but I'm assuming they'll be hunting around for somebody more charismatic for the rest of the season!

The studio panel was pretty decent as well but, as with SNF on Sky Sports (which was an epic fail as far as I'm concerned, really really rubbish) I just don't think there's any real need to improve on a couple of guys in a studio actually at the ground watching the game and being in the thick of it all. Every Premier League ground has this facility - even us new boys have had one craned in over the gate - but having to return to a studio miles away just makes it look like you're watching a foreign match. There was a real disconnect for me. And also there was perhaps the opportunity to really delve in to what has been a pretty disappointing pounds/points return from Stoke over the last few seasons which was lost in deference to not upsetting one of the studio guests who'd presided over that failure.

BT did say early this year in the press that they would have a different approach. Watched the Man U game on Sky after (it was free yesterday) and I noticed that they've gone for a studio and audience as well - not sure if that's new and an attempt to copy BT.

Well it all starts proper today, come on Eagles!

Three Sky stalwarts ready to defect; MM, Chad and Mr Stokes. I'm beginning to think that's why they did it :D

It will be great to have you all back

I'm afraid not the good men and women of Sky have sorted me a deal to could to be true , so Sky and Sky Sports it is for another year. A big thanks to VM though they helped with my bartering :D
