Re: TiVo

Given the number who've said 'not paying that' I suspect the numbers wanting install that quickly aren't even close to that. Even some of the preregs are turning it down because they have to take XL, etc. We're still very much in early adopter territory.

That said, how many installs to VM do in an average week? Bet it's quite a few. 20k in 7 weeks is less than 500 a day not including Sundays.

Agreed but surely calls would have to start happening soon and in a bigger volume.

I got a phone call today from the "Tivo team" and its being installed on the 16th. woop! Looks like they are starting to do the pre-registered people now. Just had to pay for the box nothing else.

Are you on VIP or just a TV XL customer?

Thats a triple XL package with XXL BB not VIP. Its what I have.

Although it could be a VIP package.

No mention of sports and movies though, could easily just be a triple.

Indeed, you're right, both.... my mistake ... jumped to conclusions noting the V+HD and VHD combo.... but needs the SkyPremium channels to be VIP

Sorry I didn't reply, was in work ;-) I've got sports and movies and the premium HD, but wasn't officially classed as VIP until Dexter sorted it out on the phone with me. I was paying 108 quid rather than £97.40.

We had over 25,000 registrations and of these we have selected 1000 VIP50 customers to get the service a little
earlier. As mentioned above the service will be launched fully in March.

Seems the CEO team either make it all up or don't know whats going around them, I got an email back from them on Monday saying for VIP50 it would be £149 + £49 activation.

I'm not going to believe anything anymore until Virgin either contact me due to pre-registering or I read it on their website

Re: TiVo

If they want existing customers installed in March surely pricing for the service should be out there now.

I'd be well happy at that , 149 seems reasonable to me.
