Just a thought perhaps a thread along the lines , complicated details to describe a simple change :D

As you can see from that, using the same video PID & audio PID as the original service. Simply allocating a unique service ID number for each BBC region. As you say, and as I have posted previously, prep work for adding BBC One HD regions in England. 10180 will be for the north west.

As far as I know, its reappearance isn't connected to the outage.

My (possibly completely wrong) theory is that VM changed something recently that also hid it from DBR (though that wasn't the reason for doing it) and moving to backup systems made it show up again.

I was told a while ago by someone running one of the DAB monitors that the Virgin monitor would be back after a few technical problems were resolved. I'm not sure that there is much that Virgin could do to "hide" data.

Even a significant technology change behind the scenes? E.g. it was End To End IP streaming with Multicast rather than Broadcast channels using multiplexes.

(Given I'm yawning as I type this it'll probably be nonsense, the above :D)

Lots of over-thinking there. :D - It is the broadcast tv platform so hiding the data would break the tv service.

Give me a moment and I'll think of something else complex and wrong... :D

It makes sense for BT to pursue another option given the difficulties the negotiations with DAZN are going through. The revelations from the Telegraph make a mockery of the comments I've read on this forum suggesting BT Sport-DAZN was a done deal.

And the comments were also revealled as a error on my part for mis-reading a document if that was a swipe at me.

Your suggestion was actually quite interesting, going forward. The DBR site doesn't show any of the tests in the 30xx SID range which link to URLs rather than the usual transport stream content. They aren't hidden, as such, but DBR would have to be adapted to show them. The Virgin Media monitor seems to have gone offline again though.

No, before your postings, I was thinking of discussions on this thread or possibly elsewhere where it was taken as a given deal.

Ah no worries mate :)
Oddly we've not had the Discovery info in our office, it may have gone to our Seattle office though as we're based in USA and UK hopefully they'll send me to Seattle at some point as they often send people from our office there and vice versa.
Another one that did pop up a few months back but has gone quiet now was Disney, given the ESPN fiasco that did surprise me but they've gone quiet on it all now.

A quirk of being in DR mode, it should disappear again. (Possibly connected to the old Syfy +1 before it moved?).
