I've not seen anyone seriously trying to defend Rooney's behaviour.

You were by claiming he wasn't the only one being nasty and luke Shaw had plenty to say on the matter although to be fair that could just be him trying to ingratiate himself with the fans after hardly setting the world on fire

No, defending him would be saying "There was nothing wrong with the tackle".

Pointing out that he wasn't the only 'nasty' player is, well, reality.

Personally I thought Luke Shaw had quite a decent game for his first run out after injury and with a totally new team.:)

The way the other West Ham players forcibly intervened with Sakho suggests they saw him do something a bit naughty as well.

Except it isn't reality as he's been cleared of being nasty

Him running his mouth of wasn't decent, especially after wazza said he deserved to go

He's certainly been cleared but if none of the officials saw it he'd in all likelihood get off. Either way I've still yet to see anyone defending Rooney, he's even admitted he went OTT.

A more balanced view of Rooneys 'horror tackle'.

And a West Ham player showing how to behave.

This suggestion that Rooney could be a liability ignores that he has been dismissed only six times in 622 matches. In the interests of balance it also needs remembering that the tally could have been more: he was fortunate not to be sent off for a 2003 skirmish with Portsmouth’s Steve Stone, a clattering of Spain’s Iker Casillas and Carlos Marchena in 2004 and some filthy challenges on Northern Ireland’s Keith Gillespie and then Chris Baird in 2005. Rooney is not alone in occasional discipline; the best player presently on the planet, Cristiano Ronaldo, has seen red eight times.
Now don't you go bringing facts in to a good old fashioned anti-United rant!

Your not paying attention then, the man boy was doing just that and no the very fact no officials saw sakho do anything is the very reason a three man panel can look closely at it and then declare him innocent of wrong doing

So many empty seats at city tonight, how can they not sell out a big European game?

Perhaps many of their supporters cannot afford the prawn sandwiches that many United supporters can afford.;):D

He is talking about seats not catering, I see that OAP Totti has just scored as well.

Have said this before, cannot understand why they are going to enlarge the ground, a 60,000 capacity ATM, biggest crowd last season was 47,364.
