Yeah, it does really need a dummies guide to...
but I just posted the info as I received it. :D

However, most of it should be fairly clear if you have been following the thread. Funnily enough, most of the tech. details posted elsewhere have been removed. :p

Also All4 is now on the 360 boxes.

Does anyone know if this is in HD or SD?

Do you mean this forum, or the internet in general? With many things I find it's the latter.

All4 is in HD on the 360, currently in SD on the V6.

Integration with the 360 search for All4 isn't current available but I'd expect it'll be available at some point.

Good news indeed about HD.

All I mean is that most of the uber-techy details were stripped out for the forum reports. Normally, the info is posted on DS Forum, which has more users interested in the technical aspects. It was posted here, largely because it is getting difficult to see any technical data while the Virgin monitor at digitalbitrate.com is offline. Also because CF posters are reposting the DS Forum posts anyway.

Thanks for clarifying.

Basically, it's for people who are interested in that type of information. I wouldn't expect everyone to be interested and, clearly, you aren't. Nobody is forcing you to read it. Feel free to just get on with whatever it is you come here for. :D

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2021)

I noticed yesterday the new interface for BBC iPlayer had launched on VM. Main difference: the menus are on the left instead of on top.

VM has been missing on DigitalBitRate for a wee while now, but it has now returned. I'm assuming this is related to the TV outage last week. I wouldn't be surprised if it disappears again. I can see a new BBC 1HD on the regional multiplex, so that's likely preparation on VM for English regions finally getting HD version.

As you can see from that, using the same video PID & audio PID as the original service. Simply allocating a unique service ID number for each BBC region. As you say, and as I have posted previously, prep work for adding BBC One HD regions in England. 10180 will be for the north west.

As far as I know, its reappearance isn't connected to the outage.
