Just seen rooney's kick..disgusting, no intention of going for the ball..purely went to assault the player.

It looks like Nolan's goal was onside...as usual, Man Utd get biased decisions....nothing has changed.

Hahaha! You are incredibly bitter

The foul wasn't that bad. He clearly just wanted to stop the counter attack, which you see happen in nearly every game, definitely wasn't "assault" but a deserved red. And the goal was clearly offside.

It balances out the fake penalty from last week - you could say justice is done.

It was a malicious attack...only done to attack the player...petulance to the extreme. He didn't trip him...he kicked him. that is assault, same as a punch...though...I guess for man utd supporters..that probably is called love play...something to do to the wife on a regular basis

Good game at OT today, hanging on a bit at the end . Can't understand why Rooney got a straight red though. His tackle was a cynical 'professional'foul which TBH I would always like to see punished with a straight red but what is the criteria if there is one. It was the first foul that he had committed, it wasn't two footed or in any way dangerous, he was deep in his own half so not denying a goal scoring opportunity. Only ten, fifteen minutes later a Hammers player committed an absolutely identical foul and only got a yellow. Makes me think that if it had been anyone but Rooney the ref wouldn't have been as quick to show the red, he fired it up in an instant without thinking about it for a second.

you cannot the compare the two.. Rooney kicked the guy deliberately...the other was a trip..assault should never be condoned.

Puzzled why the ref should consider assault as something to let go....rooney did it intentionally...he got the red

Even for you that is a disgusting and low comment.

You are condoning assault...I am condemning it..but recognising that for some low lifes.. they think it is normal behaviour

yes...I can see which side you are on.

As you well know I was talking about the referee's decision and your suggestion that United players get 'biased' decisions. What Rooney did was wrong but no worse than players from any team in the land have done. You are making it sound like nobody has ever committed a serious foul before.

Keep the personal comments out of posts people, otherwise you will get a warning.

And nowhere in my post did I defend Rooney, nowhere in my post did I say he didn't deserve a red card. I did say that cynical so called proffesional fouls warrant a red card. it is a matter of conjecture but I thought the West Ham foul was a deliberate and cynical trip, he just disguised it better than Rooney's clumsy hack.

As for the offside/onside goal, that was a not a clear cut howler by the officials, in fact it could have been an excellent decision or a the very tiniest of errors. It was definitely not a cast iron goal, in spite of what Big Sam says.

As an aside does anyone know which team have the most R/Y cards so far this season and also lie second in the most fouls committed table?;)

Seems like Rooney wasn't the only one to get nasty in the game:

Seems like it was just Rooney after all

Its a mans game not a boys but anyone attempting to defend rooneys thuggish behaviour sounds just as silly as the man/boy Shaw, especially as wazza says he was right to be sent of
