Although we could do much worse than Dyche and have already done this season.

Nobody would be given the time Ferguson had at Utd these days - not even at Utd. They probably would be in a much better situation if they had kept Moyes for a few years given they were on the decline anyway. Maybe Arsenal if they had kept Emery (given what he has done at villa) would have worked out better than sacking him for Arteta, although Arteta hasn't done badly it took them a few years to become challengers in the league, and it seems Emery could have done that too.

Although the two we have sacked were justifiable (Nuno for his behaviour, and Ange for well simply being terrible) it seems that most of the time now a manager doesn't get the time to build without the threat of the sack and often the first sign of bad results the clubs pull the trigger on them.

I don't like spurs but there's already been talk this season of them sacking Frank which also seems silly to me because 2 years of Ange can't be undone in months. He had time at Brentford away from the spotlight to build a team and get it promoted and the organisation both on and off the field took years to get in place (quite a bit was the club). If the club is on board with the manager and want him to repeat then he needs time.

Going back to Utd it was clear at the end of the Ferguson years they were in decline, Ferguson was also good at organisation off the field so they had replacements lined up and towards the end this didn't happen so well, Moyes needed the time to sort those issues out as well, but they just chopped around various managers some of them being the best out there (LvG, Mourinho) and none of them did anything because the club needed more. I thought Watford usually got away with it because they managed to get similar managers for the squad and playing style, when the Pozzos came in and got rid of Dyche for Zola he lasted just over a season, then they went up in 2014-5 with 4 managers, they had 3 the last time they went down from the EPL and since then now looking for their 8th manager. I don't think they have really had any lasting more than 2 years. It's clearly not working these days and why would anyone let alone a manager in work go there?

Not really, Leeds had 14 shots, 5 on target, Forest had 16 shots, 6 on target.
Possession wise Leeds had slightly more (56%) - thats not unusual for a home team.
Forest had twice as many corners (10 v 5), they had more chances, but didnt take them.

By the time they finally scored, it was too late to salvage anything. :(

Emery wouldn't have done it at Arsenal. The team largely regressed under him to the point that he eventually got fired after we conceded something like 30 shots to Watford, having lost a CL qualification from a good league position in the previous season when we lost game after game in the run-in.

It wasn't entirely his fault; the club was a mess. We had a poor squad and a toxic dressing room with constant leaks coming from the club, players turning up when they wanted for training and even before a match and generally just treating the entire club as an excuse to have a fun time.

Emery didn't have the man-management, strength of personality or even the leeway with the club to take on the dressing room. Arsenal eventually profited from his failure because it allowed the club to hit rock bottom, which gave Arteta permission to come in and clean house. Everyone with a bad attitude was gone, and the club supported him. Ozil? Gone. Aubameyang turning up to the NLD late? Benched. Did it again? Gone.

Arsenal needed a squad rebuild and a change in culture. Emery wasn't the man to do that. I think he does well at clubs just below league challengers that have a good structure around them, which is why I think he would fail at Real Madrid if those rumours are true.

Nobody understood Wenger when he came in why was Emery different? For me it's down to the ownership. Nobody would test Hill-Wood.

Imagine giving Wenger a billion pound to spend. Or even Emery.

According to Gabby Agbonlahor on talksport, Sean Dyche has the biggest win % under owner Evangelos Marinakis.

I can't believe their going after Vitor Pereira. Sean Dyche would have kept them up. Vitor Pereira won't kick them on. Disaster incoming.

It's a self-fulfilling statistic - don't give people long enough to achieve success, bin them, and then hire from the pool of managers that other people have done the same to...

I dont believe Dyche would have kept us up, and recent performances dont support this theory.
He started well enough, and has done well in European matches, but not so well in the FA Cup or recent PL matches.

Reports are he didnt have the players support much. We seem to spend far too much time just passing the ball around with little idea what to do with it.
Woeful finishing as well (against Leeds & Wolves) - of course, thats not exactly his fault, but it hasnt helped.

Still, I cant understand why go for Vitor Pereira, his record with Wolves this season was dreadful. I cant see how its an improvement.

He’s been a complete disaster. Totally overrated and in my view the primary cause of why Forest are where they are. His signings have mostly been poor. Quite why Marinakis thought he would be an asset is beyond me.

Get rid, and give the manager the decision on signings based on what he needs to fit the style of play he wants.
