The real upgrade it needs is to change it back to a V6 box. ;)

Apparently in the ROI people can no longer get a 360, never mind a V6. It's either the streaming box for TV from Virgin or nothing!

Given the snail like roll out of any sort of hi-speed internet in my area by openreach i'd not be surprised if VM didn't go down the road of getting customers to take the streaming box as an upgrade to go with better speed internet.

A bummer if you want to record any BBC ITV or C4 stuff as they can't get the iPlayer or equivalent

Just wondering why the Republic of Ireland should get UK TV channels. :erm:

Historic overspill of signal north and south means everyone can view main channels and cable & satellite carry same channels

The channels are sold to Sky & Virgin by the commercial arm of the BBC in the same way that they are to Holland etc, so people in the ROI indirectly pay for them via their subscriptions, I had no idea that they couldn't get the iPlayer though. If they can't record I can see that that will be a problem.

Some near the border can receive Freeview signals and, whilst Freesat is not officially available in the ROI, some people do have it along with generic FTA satellite boxes.

Are they actual recordings, or just links to a streaming service ?

Up to 500 Hours to the Cloud apparently, although I don't know if that excludes certain channels.

Quick question about TV360 boxes. We have two and if we pause a live broadcast it seems to stay paused for quite a long time, never timed it but have never seen it switch back to live TV after say 20 or 30 minutes.
I have just been down to my brothers in Woking Surrey and he also has two boxes but is not able to pause live broadcasts for more than a few minutes.

Is this due to storage issues on the hard drives or are there different types of boxes/software?

Is there a maximum time that you can leave the box on pause?
