Re: Football World Cup 2010 - Pre Tournament start
Dawson is 5th choice in Capello's eyes but at least he's in with a chance of working his way up in training. He's a better CB than Carragher and Upson in my eyes so should be 3rd choice at least.

Jose Bosingwa, Michael Ballack, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel all out. Didier Drogba possibly out.
The Chelsea curse. Oh, and Arjen Robben is in hospital for a scan after limping off injured against Hungary today. |
Re: Football World Cup 2010 - Pre Tournament start
yeah quite worries about Robben Niles........ hope he isnt too injured :S
but on the brighter note... last friendly for Holland and we whooped Hungary 6-1 :D |
Re: Football World Cup 2010 - Pre Tournament start
I don't know what hell is going through footballers' minds during these friendlies. Tanaka took Drogba out with an insane flying knee. Also Azerbaijan v Honduras was almost a bloodbath as well. One was sent off and Palacios was lucky to stay on after a 2 footed lunge.

Football song for England, all the songs l have heard about England have so far been rubbish, the song that should have been recorded, should have been the anthem ' YOUR NEVER WALK ALONE, the money will go to charity.

Can anyone work out who scored this goal? :)
Robben injury not as bad as feared, so he stays in the squad. Hopefully he will be fit to play after the group stage. |

Re: Football World Cup 2010 - Pre Tournament start
It's nearly upon us!!
The opening ceremony starts at 13:00 BST tomorrow and is televised on ITV with the first match following soon afterwards on the same channel (South Africa v Mexico) I'm supporting two teams this year England (where I was born)and South Africa (where I was brought up) but I wish all the teams a great tournament. I'll close this thread about midday tomorrow and start up the proper tournament thread at the same time. |
