I've now had a £150 box sitting right on my doorstep in plain view of the street all day. Thanks Royal Mail.

The sooner the company gets privatised or even replaced by monkeys, the better.

Now that's out of the way.... Oooh.

Excellent :)

There are a few cheap iPad Android clones coming out. The best one is probably the Archos 101.

You can't compare an LCD tablet and a Kindle. The e-ink screen is design to replicate a book as much as posible to make it as comfortable as possible. A tablet won't be as comfortable to read but more flexible. Soo it depends on what you want to do with it.

I definitely want a tablet, that Archos looks quite nice.

But it also looks like there are a few others coming towards the end of the year, so I think I'll get a kindle now while I wait :)

You can also send webpages direct to your Kindle at http://rekindle.it too (not my site, mine's in my sig).

It's a browser toolbar widget that when installed will send the current webpage directly to your Kindle in the Kindle format. It's free too, which is always good.

Mine came via citylink and I had to sign for it :)

First signs are good that I can indeed actually read it whrn I turn the font size up :)

Fingers crossed, just charging it now.

I've read quite a few horror stories about this in the last couple of weeks. It's just as well I managed to catch my postman who delivered mine at 7am. My front door opens out directly onto the pavement and I never use the front door for entering or leaving the house. I've had catalogues sit out there for days without noticing. I doubt a Kindle would have stayed there long.

My cover for the kindle was delivered first..and left on my stair...fortunately I live at top

I switched my kindle to work address

Might start doing it for all..as not first time they have done that..and not illegal

I wonder why everyone else's came via CityLink and mine came via RM. I didn't see who dropped it off of course but clearly says RM in the email.

Amazon.co.uk items (Sold by Amazon EU S.a.r.L.):

1 Kindle 3G Wireless Reading... £149.00 1 £149.00

Dispatched via Royal Mail (estimated arrival date: September 24, 2010).
I did pay for delivery but so did you Dilli? Maybe it's a regional thing.

Mine was one of the first batch, two friends ordered at the same time and all three came via City Link even though none of us paid postage.
