To be honest then Kronie baby..... i think her songs so far have been pretty good.... esp the last one... but i don't think she has a special voice.... fairly standard really, but that doesn't seem to matter in the genre of music that she's in.... bit like Madonna :)
Her voice is almost mediocre but it doesn't matter because Madonna as a product is more than just a voice, which is just as well :D

What do people have against her? Probably nothing.... but because you keep mentioning her, you make her an easy target in order to get to you.... and you wear your heart on your electronic sleeve so we can all have a pop at it ;)

I think kink just used Madonna as an example of a women with some good songs, and an average voice who has been marketed well.

I like Avril, and I think she has a good voice, but kink thinks she has an average voice & good songs, so looking at it from kink's point of view, it's probably a fair comparison.

And as to changing her music style, well if Madonna was releasing the same music now that she did in the late 80s I doubt she would be around for very long. She has been famous for 20 years, so must be doing something right.
