So is the following set to happen:

Movies 24 > Sky Cinema True Story
Movies 24+ > Sky Cinema Mix

If so, Sky is getting quite desperate now. Has anyone noticed the lack of new films on Sky Cinema Premiere lately, and the dearth of films made less than 20 years ago? Looks like they are all going to the streamers.

I dont have Sky Cinema in - as Sky lack of new films has been going on since before Comcast took Sky over.

I wish Sky would have stays with they pre Digital days re Sky Movies Plus, The Movie Channel and Sky Movies Gold.

Media Boy Sources has reveal a latest update on both E! and Movies 24.

As some of you may know Sky UK runs COMCAST channels for them in the UK due to Brexit (Sky is owned by Comcast as of 2019):

Universal Channel did become Sky Comedy in 2020.

Here is a latest I have been given by my sources on E! and Movies 24 on what may happen to them.

*My sources says Sky is still on "borderline" on what to do with Movies 24.
*My sources say E! is set to be revamped.

For some reason neither Channel 4 HD or BBC Four HD are flagged as being HD in the Virgin TV Control app. It only appears to be those channels missing the correct identifiers.

HD flag now added to Channel 4 HD, but BBC Four HD is still without one. I'm not sure if this is a new issue or if its always been like that.

"Upgraded" to TV 360, big mistake it's shite compared to TiVo, so many issues and limitations. We had 2 tivos now upgraded, one in the living room and the other in my son's bedroom, if recording something downstairs he can't record it to his boxes well since I'm already recording it. Some might think this isn't an issue but if I watch it then delete it when not knowing he wanted to watch it too there is no option to recover the show.

This is one of many issues and am going to fight to get my 2 tivos back if I can.

I agree, the 360 is a downgrade IMO.

Please let us know how you get on as they really won't want to put you back in the position that you were previously in. I suspect that the time will come when everyone not on 360 will be forcibly migrated and that's when I will leave.

If they do allow you to go back to TiVo, I wonder if there is a system in place to download the TiVo software onto a 360 box?? If not, they will have to give you two V6 boxes (if they have any left).

The last publicly known carriage deal between VM and UKTV was in August 2018 (when the channels returned after being removed in July 2018), but as this may have been renewed this year (when multiple UKTV channels were made HD-only) it could be several years until the two companies negotiate again.

You do have the option to create profiles and a watchlist, which will enable you to track how much you've seen on one box and how much on the other, having set up your profiles. You can also delete a watchlist on one box without it affecting another.

Hmmm! they can't have info slates on 200-203 informing of any changes and also move the actual channels into those slots. Unless the are moved in stages, in which case they could just change the info slates at each stage. Keep an eye on TS 514 on digitalbitrate.com, maybe the slates will show up on there before they go live.

They could have a popup message saying something like "This is now the home of Amazing TV, Fascinating TV+1 has moved to 198. Press Green to clear this message." It doesn't have to be a full screen static slate is my point.

---------- Post added at 14:54 ---------- Previous post was at 14:48 ----------

Reality+1 would be less confusing above/before Reality Xtra, as Reality Xtra isn't what it's a timeshift of. Horror Xtra+1 would make more sense on Ch193 as Horror Xtra is on Ch192.

They could use the popup/overlay messages and it doesn't have to be a full screen slate but the point is that the EPG slot numbers have actually been assigned to "Channel Update" full screen slates. That is what was reported on DS.

Virgin can have slates on channels 200 to 203 if Virgin do a channel changes over some weeks.

All the following channels can move on Week 1 (October 25th):

144. 4Seven HD
193. Yesterday +1
198. CBS Reality +1
199. Horror Xtra +1

All the following channels can move on Week 2 (November 1st):

200. Sky Witness +1
201. Sky Crime +1
202. Crime + Investigation HD
203. Blaze

As you can see all Channels thst may move on Week 1 are free numbers right now (October 21st) so Virgin may do this changes over two weeks starting as early as this coming Tuesday.

But if Sky UK are set to close them keep a eye on kriZbii over on DS Forum - I think kriZbii works for Sky.

Over some weeks, yes that's what I meant by "moved in stages". However, if that was the case why would they have set up 8 slates only to use 4? Slates can easily be reused, they do it all the time. In that scenario they would only have needed 4 slates with a change of text on the slates for the next batch. It may well take more than one week to complete the move as even moving 8 channels (which is a fairly typical number for housekeeping changes), there are still entertainment channels left at 226, 226 etc. Probably better to wait for the actual slates to be pre-launched before jumping to conclusions. Keep an eye on DBR.

Thanks epsilon.

This looks like the first move in VM themselves reorganising the EPG, since all the +1s there are moving to worse numbers. Shame 4 Seven HD isn't a swap out. I've zero interest in them, but I did feel a little sorry for C&I HD and Blaze being so far out on the edge of General Entertainment, so they'll finally be nearer other main channels.

I think Factual might move to low 200s eventually.

Maybe lower - to sit beside they sister channels.

With +1 Channels moving to next available number.

With Yesterday +1 moving we may see Eden HD moving to Channel 131 with Dave Ja Vu moving to Channel 191 (Left over from W HD) with Eden +1 moving to channel 200.

The following list may move as well:

*Sky History HD
*Sky History +1
*Sky History 2 HD
*Sky Documentaries HD
*Sky Documentaries
*Sky Nature HD
*Sky Nature
*E4 Extra may move to 203.

All other Factual will stay as now until Virgin sign new deals with broadcasters.

Base on list of channels moving - I feel Virgin has signed new deals with:

Channel 4 (4 Seven HD)
A&E UK (Crime & Investigation HD and Blaze)
UKTV (Yesterday +1)
AMC (CBS Reality +1 and Horror Xtra +1)
Sky UK (Sky Witness +1 and Sky Crime +1)

E4 Extra would surely just move to C4 HD's old slot, pretty sure you said as much yourself.

I don't think channels moving to worse slots means a new contract, especially when multiple broadcasters are involved. It's more likely VM telling all the broadcasters they want to do a large reshuffle and the changes not being that contentious as most are involving +1s when the majority are likely using Catch-up On-demand these days.

I wouldn't like to guess at what the plans are. The gap created in the EPG is relatively small and too small to contain many of the obvious options. Creating the gap does suggest this will be followed by further changes and it will be interesting to see where this goes. I wonder if it will work like a chinese puzzle with some of the moves being short term changes with further moves for these channels to follow before everything fits into place.

Yes, I received it yesterday.
However, does anyone know if the Lionsgate+ app is to be added? It is listed as avaiable on the Lionsgate+ website via Virgin TV but its not added on my 360.

They rebranded the Starzplay section pretty much immediately to Lionsgate+. Yes, I know that's not the same thing.

Thanks I didnt know that. Only just found that section now buried away in Box Sets and Movies.
But, their own website is stating 30 day free trial of app with Virgin TV. This is bad implementation on Virgins part.

There was £1.99 monthly subscription offer on VirginMedia when it was Starzplay.

It launched on SkyQ this week which is likely why new users are getting the free month offer.

Even though the app on on SkyQ - you still have to go to Lionsgate+ for a subscription or free access.

Your mum should be getting them. ITV2-ITV4 HD have been available on the Sky & Virgin streaming boxes from launch, which is why i'm not too surprised that they've gone FTA on satellite.

These channels have now been moved down to the lowest pack, thus further devaluing the top pack.

For me, the most interesting part of this is that there will be 'a dedicated FAST section of Virgin TV’s electronic programme guide'.

Hopefully the Paramount+ app will be able on the V6 as well as the 360 and Stream boxes, although the Disney+ app isn't, so that doesn't bode well. It would be a shame to see V6 customers left behind.

5USA HD, 5STAR HD and 5SELECT HD are surely part of the agreement, as Sky has these.

When I mentioned the two streaming services I didn't meant the 360, I meant the subscription free Virgin streaming box & the Sky streaming box.

Yes, the ITV2-ITV4 HD channels haven't been moved down to the basic pack, even though these channels are now available for free elsewhere.

The confusion arose because I found the top pack no longer offered value for money. I think only those who want BT Sport will now find it to be so, with the rest of those on it basically subsidising them.

I found the ITV channels were available to me yesterday and assumed that they'd been moved down to teflect the fact that they're now available for free elsewhere. However, I forgot that I get some extra channels by way of compensation for miselling.

Personal view is that I wouldn't expect it to be added to the V6. Virgin Media need a 'pull' reason for customers to upgrade away from the TiVo platform before they have to 'push' customers off it, so having popular apps and content exclusive to 360 will help with that.

Same happened when TiVo first came in, new content options were only on that to pull customers away from the V boxes.

And as V6 customers can upgrade with just some new remotes being sent and a software upgrade, as long as the differences are clearly explained, it's not a huge leap to do.

I renegotiated my VM contact a few months ago and at no point did they even offer switching to 360 from V6 - I think they are missing a trick not trying to get people to do so at that point.

From what I've read in here, I'm not sure they could call it an upgrade though, as it sounds like you lose out on more features that you gain?

It isn't but until the charge is scrapped many of us won't shift. Also the ability to recover deleted shows.... Much more important than the old reminder nonsense that was begged for when TiVo came out.

I "upgraded" to 360 at the end of my current contract and found it to be a piece of horseshit that I managed to get the 2 boxes we upgraded replayed with 2 TiVo boxes. The fact they replaced them with out any hassle makes me believe that they know the 360 isn't the upgrade they touted it as.

It has so many failings over TiVo it's not worth having and any apps I don't get on TiVo I can get on my fire stick max so am losing nothing and gaining more doing it this way

EPG: 669 - Genre: Documentaries - Hide flag present, so hidden from the EPG. The service is on a HD transport stream but bot flagged as HD.
Only added to the NIT of VM Hammersmith - so the internal network at Virgin HQ.
Not added to SDT Portsmouth which is the usual test network for new services.
Subscription pack: M / Player / Mixit - no extra codes for Stream etc. Flagged as "running" and "encrypted". PMT & encrypted video / audio streams have been added.

No other clues about what it is but the description suggests a barker channel and the network availability suggests it is available at VM HQ only. An internal information channel perhaps?

It's a migration more than an upgrade. It's also currently completely voluntary, although some CS staff have pushed this change without telling customers it is voluntary & they have then got disgruntled that they can't migrate back.

Also while you can migrate two V6 boxes to Horizon to utilise both hard disks, when one of them eventually fails it will be replaced with a Mini V360 box.

Can watch the other apps either through my TV or fire TV stick so isn't a problem

That's what I do, even the 360 is light on apps so it's not a big deal. Smart TVs are fine until the TV ages out of support and the apps stop getting updates and eventually no longer work. That should take a few years though, with a new TV.

How did you accomplish this? I've always been told its a one way street with no going back. Ever.
Which department in CS handled this and was there a charge for doing so?

Reports now say that ITV PLC "are expected" to rebrand ITV as ITV1 on November 15th. But that date could change.

I wonder if that date will coincide with the launch of ITV X?

Yikes. Those numerals look bad. Like someone's poor attempt at a mock up.

That's what they want you to think.

RUMOUR:

Just found this on Digital Spy Forum:

"Apparently, according to Netgem, Viaplay (Group) are to launch a new movie/entertainment channel & a app.

Reports also say it will cost a extra £3.99 a month or free if you pay for Viaplay Sports."

There is trading update from ITV on Wednesday, guess the launch date and rebrand will be announced then.

The Viaplay app has been available for some time and recently added to more devices.

It is on the Amazon Firestick and direct Premier Sports subscriptions work on it. Amazon show it's release date as Feb 2022.

Direct Premier Sport

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2022)

The Channel Guide website has always been a bit hit and miss, sometimes listing channels that have long since shut e.g. France24 French HD is listed on ch832 but it hasn't for a LONG time.

The current incarnation though has some of the changes spotted regards the moving of channels in the low 200s in the General Entertainment section.

I think there are still errors though. Great! TV is missing for example, but it's slot on Ch189 is taken by Crime+Investigation HD.

Other changes include 4Seven HD on Ch143 replacing the SD version, Blaze on ch199, Yesterday+1 ch217, CBS Reality ch218, HorrorXtra+1 ch219, Sky Witness+1 ch220, Sky Crime+1 ch221.

The changes has now happen but 4Seven HD is on Channel 193 - not 143 as listed on the Virgin Media UK web site.

Also base on my TiVo box Sky Cinema Drama HD will become Sky Cinema Christmas HD from November 12th, plus NOW 90s will become NOW Christmas from November 9th.

4Seven HD is on channel 143 on my Stream box.

In fact, Stream boxes probably could have done with having a bespoke slate for the changes. Out of the 8 channels listed on the info slate, 6 aren't available on Stream and 4seven HD is incorrect, leaving only 1 channel listed (Blaze) as both relevant and correct.

Crime + Investigation HD is now on 198 (not 189 as it says in the Channel Guide, which is still Great! TV).

4SevenHD still on 143 on my 360 (that's due to the fact that it replaces the SD version on the 360).

Re: Changes to Virgin TV (2022)

Due to VM's slip up with the updated Channel Guides, by removing Great! TV from 189 and replacing it with Crime + Investigation HD, this also means that the Personal Picks document is now inaccurate.

V6 Channel Guides:
https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-t...-channel-guide

360 Channel Guides:
https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-t...-channel-guide

Personal Picks:
https://www.virginmedia.com/content/...ember_2022.pdf

Despite all of this TV channel shuffling, E4 Extra is still (for now) in the wrong section of the EPG (Music).

I forgot about HD Channels being on SD Channels numbers on some boxes (V6, TV360 and Virgin Media Stream) until I started to update all boxes listing on my blog - after I posted on here last night.

Can I ask if I have a right listing for Virgin Media Stream:

https://mediaboyblog.blogspot.com/p/...60-lineup.html

PM me if it not a right one.
